Job description

The manager for the cardiac catheterization and lab and non-invasive cardiology will work in collaboration with the senior director (immediate supervisor), cardiovascular medical staff leadership, and departmental staff to meet the organization's goals for operational budgets, process improvement, and patient experience in their respective departments.

The manager will assist with the development of capital budgets, monitor the status of existing equipment maintenance and reliability, and partner with the biomedical department to ensure patient safety at all times. This role includes oversight of staff development, policy updates and creation, and staff competency assurance. As new programs are rolled out, the manager will assist with all aspects of program development.

Responsibilities also include oversight of charge entry and reconciliation on a daily basis, monitoring revenue reports, and participating in process improvement initiatives such as NCDR, the STEMI collaborative, and other team-determined metrics. Managing supply chain operations and ensuring compliance with GPO agreements are key functions of this leadership role.

The manager is responsible for organizing, supervising, and directing the delivery of quality patient care, coordinating department activities, supervising nursing and technical personnel, interpreting policies, participating in problem investigation, and facilitating change to achieve top performance in patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction. The role involves leading cooperation with the patient care team to uphold professional nursing standards in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, Article 2, Section 2725 of the Business and Professions Code.
