$250,000.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr

Our client is building the next-generation automation platform for U.S. small business lending - AI/automation-first, with human oversight at the core. Their mission is to deliver seamless access to capital through a modern, data-driven, and deeply automated workflow for businesses with $500K–$5M annual revenue.

As they expand at a remarkable pace, they are seeking an exceptional Lead AI Architect to lead the architecture, build, and ongoing development of their API/data platform.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and ship scalable APIs (REST/GraphQL) to expose, transform, and secure internal business data.
• Ingest and normalize data from multiple sources (JSON, CSV, PDFs, databases, logs).
• Design and implement vector search/retrieval pipelines using Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar.
• Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) for advanced workflows (qualification, scoring, document parsing, messaging, etc.).

Requirements:

• Must have experience within FinTech, Lending, or real-time scoring/ decisioning
• 8+ years backend experience (Python required; Node.js a bonus).
• Production experience integrating LLMs/AI into real-world business applications (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks).
• Proven API design and operational experience (REST, GraphQL, OAuth2, JWT).
• Hands-on experience with modern DBs (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) and data transformation pipelines.
• Strong cloud-native skills (deploying to AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker, CI/CD).
• Deep understanding of structured/unstructured data, ETL, and data contracts.
