Position Overview:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Develops and promotes spa services in coordination with clinical service line leadership, especially for Capital Health Cancer Center programs such as Unite for Her, Daisy Makeover, Paxman fittings, integrative services, mastectomy fitting, and wig fitting. Ensures services complement clinical offerings.
  • Manages the overall operations of Oasis Salon & Wellness Spa, including direct supervision of staff and daily operations.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the spa.
  • Assists in developing strategies to increase sales and clientele; creates and distributes marketing materials.
  • Provides spa services as a licensed cosmetologist, hairstylist, or massage therapist.
  • Recruits, manages, evaluates, and oversees spa staff, including interviewing and hiring.
  • Ensures staff maintain current licensure and certifications.
  • Coordinates scheduling and facility space, resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Schedules staff to ensure smooth operations; backfills at the front desk when necessary.
  • Ensures excellent client care and satisfaction, addressing client complaints effectively.
  • Markets the spa at community events.
  • Manages the spa's physical environment, including maintenance, cleanliness, and creating a serene, healthful atmosphere.
  • Maintains Meevo 2 system for scheduling, payroll, client database, and appointments.
  • Oversees billing, collections, deposits, and accounting controls.
  • Handles retail product procurement, pricing, invoicing, inventory, and expiry management.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces spa policies, including bedside services.
  • Provides ongoing staff training and motivation aligned with company goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Extensive education in cosmetology, hairstyling, esthetics, or massage therapy; board certification required for massage therapists; current NJ license as Esthetician, Cosmetologist, or Massage Therapist; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of spa or salon experience; leadership and marketing experience preferred. Experience with salon management systems (e.g., Meevo 2) preferred.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Leadership ability and client-facing experience, including handling challenges.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Frequent physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, carrying objects, bending, manual dexterity; technical services may require additional physical effort.
  • Occasional climbing (stairs/ladders).
  • Continuous use of keyboard and repetitive motions.
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs. from floor to waist; over 20 lbs. at waist level or above.
  • Sensory requirements include near vision, hearing, and color differentiation.
  • No anticipated occupational exposure risks.
