Job summary

Brandon Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Endoscopy Registered Nurse Manager to lead nursing care in the postoperative period and coordinate the endoscopy unit’s staff and resources. You will work with physicians, manage environment and equipment, and strive to improve quality of care.

The role requires a Nursing Diploma, 2+ years in gastroenterology settings, 2 years supervising staff, RN license (or compact), and BCLS with ACLS/PALS as needed.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma is required.
• 2+ years of experience in a gastroenterology procedure setting.
• 2 years of supervisor experience.
• RN license required or appropriate compact licensure.
• BCLS certification required upon employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS, PALS or other as required for patient care area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care in the designated clinical unit/department.
• Ensure sufficient staff for the endoscopy unit on a daily basis.
• Notify staff of scheduling changes in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and delegate tasks according to activities and staff competencies.
• Assist in managing labor costs by coordinating staffing patterns and maintaining open communication with leadership.
• Staff the clinical area and assist with needs including breaks, meal coverage, late cases, and shortages.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse Manager, you will contribute to the company’s mission and vision by utilizing the nursing process in planning, executing and evaluating the nursing care rendered postoperatively until patient is dismissed from the facility. You are responsible for coordinating environmental control, area staff, assistance to physicians, materials, equipment and education of personnel. You will analyze and evaluate nursing services to improve quality of care provided.

What you will do in this role:

• You will coordinate nursing care in the designated clinical unit/department
• Ensure sufficient staff for your endoscopy unit on a daily bases
• You will notify staff of scheduling changes in a timely manner
• You will coordinate and delegate tasks to individuals according to the activities required and staff competencies
• You will assist with managing labor cost by coordinating adequate staffing patterns according to the utilization of the area and keeping an open line of communication with Clinical Director and/or administrator
• You will be assessable to staff your clinical area and assist with clinical needs to include: providing breaks, ensure coverage for meal breaks, late cases, and staffing shortages

Qualifications for this role:

• Nursing Diploma
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a gastroenterology procedure setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
• Two years of supervisor experience
• RN license required or appropriate compact licensure
• Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable
• ACLS, PALS and/or other as required for patient care area and by facility
