Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Manager of Modular Building Programs in Colorado to own the PMO for Spark Modular Data Center units and Power Distribution Center buildings. You will lead a small team of project managers, own the portfolio schedule, and drive on-time delivery against targets with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain alignment.

You will partner with Sales and Estimating, ensure feasibility before commitments, and manage risk and economics reviews to maintain margins while scaling

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering or Construction Management (or closely related field).
• Minimum 8+ years in project management within electrical equipment, construction, engineering or manufacturing industries. Prior PMO leadership preferred.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplinary modular building or data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Own the consolidated schedule across Spark MDC and PDC programs and manage capacity planning.
• Lead and develop a team of project managers, setting standards for schedule quality and change discipline.
• Serve as senior escalation point for modular customers and manage executive-level discussions on schedule impact and changes.
• Partner with Manufacturing Operations on line loading, takt-time alignment, and bottleneck resolution.

About This Role:

Join our team as the Manager of Modular Building Programs and take ownership of the project management function for our entire modular product sector including Spark Modular Data Center units and Power Distribution Center (PDC) buildings. You will own the portfolio schedule, the delivery commitment to hyperscale customers, and the growth of the project managers executing the work.

This is a working leadership role. You'll manage a small team of project managers while personally carrying the hardest programs, the toughest customer conversations, and the cross-functional escalations your team cannot resolve on their own. You are the connective tissue between the PMO, the plant floor, Engineering, and Supply Chain for everything modular.

Your work directly impacts our ability to deploy modular data center buildings to compute from sustainable, renewable and/or stranded energy sources. Success here is measured in throughput and predictability: more units out the door, on the date we committed, at the margin we quoted.

We are seeking an experienced people leader with a proven background in construction, engineering, and/or manufacturing, a strategic mindset, and the operational discipline to scale a product line through rapid growth. This is a full-time position. (#INDMFG)

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Modular Portfolio Ownership: Own the consolidated schedule across Spark MDC and PDC building programs, including capacity with Production planning and plant operations.

• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers. Set the standard for schedule quality, change discipline, cost accuracy, and customer communication — and hold the team to it.

• Customer Relationship Management and Development: Serve as the senior escalation point for modular customers, including executive-level schedule impact and change negotiation discussions. Become the go-to solution for customer needs and build strong, repeatable relationships that outlast any single program.

• Capacity and Production Planning: Partner with Manufacturing Operations & Production Planning on line loading, takt-time alignment, labor forecasting, and bottleneck resolution across the modular build area.

• Strategic Change & Risk Management: Govern the engineering change process for modular products. Enforce impact analysis, pricing discipline, and customer approval before anything reaches the floor. Maintain the portfolio risk register and drive mitigation across engineering, supply chain, and production constraints.

• Program Economics and Target Accountability: Set the margin and cost targets for each modular program at baseline, and own delivery against them through close-out. Partner with Project Controls in a standing monthly economics review where you jointly validate the cost-to-complete position — Project Controls owns the model, you own the operational assumptions inside it: hours remaining, change order capture, schedule position, and material exposure. Sign the forecast you submit. When a program drifts off target, bring the variance, the root cause, and a recovery plan to the same review rather than waiting for it to surface in the roll-up.

• Process Improvement & Standardization: Drive standardization across configurations — build repeatable schedule templates, WBS structures, budget templates and close-out packages that reduce per-unit PM overhead.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Estimating during pursuit and handoff to validate schedule feasibility, scope delineation, and manufacturability before commitments are made.

• Executive Reporting and Dashboard Ownership: Own the modular executive dashboard — throughput, on-time delivery, backlog, and margin across Spark MDC and PDC programs. Your project managers complete the project-level inputs; you own the dashboard’s accuracy, its cadence, and the story it tells to leadership. Represent modular products in PMO-wide governance including stage gates and post-mortem review, and enable the team to represent individual projects reporting upwards to senior and executive leadership.

• Schedule Quality Assurance: Perform logic checks, float analysis, critical path validation, and baseline change control on program schedules — audit and correct, not merely report.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Industry Experience — Modular Building Manufacturing or Data Center Construction: Experience delivering multi-disciplinary products (electrical, HVAC, structural, enclosure/building envelope). Modular Building Manufacturing and/or Data Center Construction experience is strongly preferred.

• Project Management Experience: Minimum of 8+ years managing projects within the electrical equipment, construction, engineering and/or manufacturing industry, including ETO or highly engineered production.

• People Leadership: 3+ years of direct leadership of project managers or equivalent technical staff, with a track record of developing them.

• Engineering & Constructability Competency: Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering design drawings, and to lead a team that does the same. We are looking for a leader who can review a design package from a “we have to build this” perspective and give our engineering group productive, risk-based feedback before release.

• Bachelor of Science: BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Management. Closely related fields will be considered.

• Portfolio Accountability: Demonstrated ownership of a multi-project manufacturing or construction portfolio with accountability for on-time delivery and margin performance.

• Complex Change Leadership & Process Ownership: Proven ability to lead the adoption of dynamic change management practices across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement.

• Schedule Development & Management: Proficient in scheduling using waterfall methodologies. Proficient with programs such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Monday.com or Primavera P6.

• Cost Management: Ability to forecast and build cost budgets across a portfolio, and manage those budgets through completion.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Experience with manufacturing ERP systems like SAP or Visual; experience with Acumatica is preferred.

• Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Bonus Points:

• Direct expertise in managing change on first-of-a-kind (FOAK) manufacturing programs or highly complex projects, maintaining positive client relationships throughout periods of significant project evolution.

• Experience scaling a modular or prefabricated product line through rapid volume growth.

• Background spanning both field construction and factory manufacturing.

• Familiarity with industrialized building regulatory programs and third-party inspection regimes.

• Experience implementing PMO standards, SOPs, or stage-gate governance in a manufacturing organization.

• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $160,000 -$180,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
