Crusoe is seeking a Manager of Process Engineering to lead a high-performing team responsible for transitioning engineered-to-order product data into production-ready manufacturing data. You will own MBOMs and drive CTB milestones, while partnering with PLM administrators to optimize the new PLM system.

The role requires expert technical foundations, ERP/PLM experience, and the ability to coordinate across Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Project teams in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

About This Role

As the Manager of Process Engineering at Crusoe, you will build, guide, and lead a high-performing team responsible for transitioning engineered-to-order product design data into production-ready manufacturing data. Your team’s focus will be on power distribution equipment, including switchboards, switchgear, industrial control panels, and factory-integrated electronics buildings such as Power Distribution Centers (PDCs) and Modular Data Centers (MDCs). While you possess the deep technical expertise of a senior individual contributor, your primary focus will be on people leadership—delegating tasks, reviewing work, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-functional alignment.

Under your leadership, the process engineering team will serve as the champions of build readiness and the "Clear to Build" (CTB) milestones for all engineered-to-order power distribution products. You will take explicit ownership of our Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) and act as a key strategic stakeholder and partner in the rollout of a new manufacturing PLM system. By partnering closely with the PLM Administrator, you will ensure the platform meets design and manufacturing needs and that your team thrives as critical users of the new system. Your strategic vision, expert-level technical aptitude, and excellent communication skills will ensure a seamless flow of information between Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Project teams.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of process engineers. Spend the majority of your time coaching, delegating project loads, reviewing technical work for accuracy, and ensuring the team meets high standards of execution.

• Build Readiness & "Clear to Build" (CTB) Ownership: Own the manufacturing build readiness process. Ensure that all manufacturing processes, documentation, procurement, and system data are fully validated and achieve "Clear to Build" status before production begins.

• PLM Strategy & Partnership: Act as a key strategic stakeholder and partner to the PLM Administrator during the implementation, enterprise rollout, and ongoing support of a new manufacturing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Ensure your process engineering team is fully supported, trained, and optimized as critical end-users of the system.

• MBOM Ownership: Take explicit ownership of Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs). Ensure your team accurately and efficiently translates Engineering BOMs (EBOMs) into robust MBOMs that align with production workflows.

• Documentation Interpretation & Review: Provide expert-level guidance and final oversight to the team as they interpret complex mechanical and electrical design documentation, including fabrication drawings and schematics.

• Strategic Communication & Coordination: Act as the primary leadership point of contact for planning deliverables. Partner closely with purchasing, production, inventory, and project management leadership to align on project timelines, resolve technical blockers, and ensure smooth data migration to manufacturing systems.

• Process & Systems Governance: Drive the creation, standardization, and maintenance of Manufacturing Bills of Processes (MBOP) and Visual Work Instructions (VWIs), ensuring total alignment with Document Control Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, and company standards.

• Supplier Collaboration: As required, partner with outside suppliers and vendors alongside the procurement team to secure quotes, evaluate proposals, and provide expert technical support for external manufacturing capabilities.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role, with at least 2+ years of direct people management experience.

• Expert Technical Foundations: Must possess the technical skills of an expert individual contributor, with the ability to dive deep into technical problems when necessary to guide the team.

• Systems & Data Proficiency: Deep experience managing MBOMs and working within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Experience acting as a power user, stakeholder, or partner in PLM system implementations is highly preferred.

• Documentation Proficiency: Expert ability to read, interpret, and review fabrication drawings, electrical schematics, and complex Engineering Bills of Materials.

• Operational Acumen: Strong familiarity with sourcing, purchasing practices, production management, and advanced continuous improvement methodologies.

• Adaptability and Leadership: The ability to lead, delegate, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across multiple sites with a geographically dispersed team.

• Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Bonus Points:

• Advanced Degree: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

• CAD Software Proficiency: Experience with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD Electrical

• PLM Mastery: Experience implementing and administering PLM software. Siemens Teamcenter preferred.

• ERP Mastery: Experience implementing, administering, and/or sustaining ERP software systems. Acumatica preferred.

• Manufacturing Process Expertise: Proven track record of designing manufacturing processes, implementing continuous improvements, and leading 5S, visual factory, and lean initiatives across complex production floors.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $160,000 -$180,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. (#INDMFG)
