Job summary

American Airlines in Fort Worth is seeking a Manager, Minimum Equipment List (MEL) Programs to oversee the development and administration of MEL, CDL, NEF and TAC programs in the Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) department. You’ll lead Deferral Specialists, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain critical systems like ARMS and ACMS with cross-functional supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent related experience/training.
  • 5 years experience in commercial airline maintenance operations. This could be Line or Base maintenance and prior Maintenance Control (or combination thereof).
  • Experience with AA maintenance procedures and familiar with regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other departments in the development, approval and production of the AA MEL, CDL, NEF and TAC programs and content.
  • Coordinate/prepare final deferral revisions for submittal to FAA.
  • Maintain revision status of all MEL, CDL, NEF and TAC manuals to meet AA needs and ensure regulatory compliance. Coordinate distribution of new manuals with all applicable departments.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to assigned Deferral Specialists as required, supporting their efforts to ensure achievement of Company objectives in safety, service excellence, operational performance and financial management.
  • Maintain and administer the AA ACARS Reported Malfunction System (ARMS) and Manufacturer-supported Aircraft Conditioning Monitoring System (ACMS) databases and interfaces.

  • The Manager MEL Program reports to the Director MOC and is responsible for administration of the various fleet deferral and tracking programs.

  • Maintain revision status of all MEL, CDL, NEF and TAC manuals to meet the needs of AA and ensure regulatory compliance. Coordinate distribution of new manuals with all applicable departments.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent related experience/training.

  • Experience with AA maintenance procedures and familiar with regulatory requirements

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Must possess a current FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) certification.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. and use of digital technical manuals.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must be capable of operating in a fast paced, time constrained environment.
  • Must have verbal and Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques.
