Manager, Metals Maintenance - Viega (McPherson, KS)

Ready to lead a critical maintenance team at a global industry leader? Viega is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Maintenance Manager to lead our Metals Maintenance department in McPherson, KS.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind our equipment reliability and operational excellence. You will lead a high-performance technical team, develop and implement cutting-edge maintenance programs, and manage all aspects of the department to minimize downtime and ensure maximum efficiency.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team: Manage, train, coach, and retain a team of skilled maintenance professionals. Drive a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Strategic Maintenance Initiatives: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs for complex metals production equipment.
  • Champion Operational Excellence: Utilize Lean Six Sigma and other CI tools to analyze and improve departmental processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Manage Budgets & Resources: Build and manage the annual departmental budget, control costs, and track spending in SAP to ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Oversee Projects & Reporting: Manage complex equipment projects, coordinating with vendors and internal teams. Develop KPIs and reporting dashboards to monitor equipment performance and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster a World-Class Safety Culture: Lead by example to ensure a safe work environment, promoting safety initiatives and ensuring compliance across all operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or a related field) is preferred, combined with 5-7 years of management experience OR 7-10 years of progressive maintenance experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performance technical team.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies (PM, PdM), Lean Six Sigma, and experience managing complex equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, develop metrics, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Compensation:
  • Base Salary: $114,000 - $149,000 annually (based on experience and other compensable factors).
  • Bonus: Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
