P3 Health Partners is seeking a Manager, Medical Economics to build and deliver market-level medical expense analytics. This role owns end-to-end analytics from raw data to market-facing reports and requires strong SQL, knowledge of medical economics, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include creating monthly PMPM trend reports, identifying cost-reduction opportunities, presenting findings to leadership and payers, and supporting affordability

Qualifications

  • Proficient to advanced SQL skills to pull, join, and summarize data from large claims and membership datasets.
  • Working knowledge of PMPM trend analysis, utilization benchmarking, cost per unit reporting, and DRG/procedure-level reporting.
  • Comfortable presenting data findings to internal stakeholders and market-level leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Experience with Medicare Advantage or other risk-based managed care products.

Overall Purpose

The Manager, Medical Economics will be responsible for building and delivering market-level medical expense analytics for a defined set of P3 markets. This role owns the end-to-end analytical process for assigned markets, from pulling and transforming raw claims data to producing and presenting market-facing performance reports. This is a hands‑on analytical role that requires strong SQL skills, a working knowledge of medical economics, and the ability to communicate data findings clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Build and maintain monthly medical expense PMPM trend reports for assigned markets by product, line of business, and population segment
  • Identify areas of medical expense reduction opportunity within assigned markets, high-cost claimants, site‑of‑service patterns, and ACO leakage
  • Present trend reporting and findings to market leadership and payer partners on a recurring cadence
  • Support reporting to track the performance of active affordability initiatives within assigned markets
  • Produce facility and provider‑level performance reports for assigned markets including cost per unit, utilization rates, and market share
  • Support network strategy conversations with data‑driven market share and efficiency analyses
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests from market leadership, payer partners, and the Director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required

  • Proficient to advanced SQL skills — ability to independently write complex queries to pull, join, and summarize data from large claims and membership datasets
  • Working knowledge of PMPM trend analysis, utilization benchmarking, cost per unit analysis, and DRG/procedure‑level reporting
  • Comfortable presenting data findings to internal stakeholders and market‑level leadership
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Experience working with Medicare Advantage or other risk‑based managed care products

Preferred

  • Proficiency in Python, R, or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker)
  • Familiarity with value‑based care contracts, capitation, and risk adjustment
  • Experience presenting data to external audiences such as payers or health systems
  • Experience working in a risk‑bearing provider or ACO environment

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in medical economics, healthcare analytics, or actuarial analysis in a managed care, provider, or health plan setting

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.

Travel

  • Quarterly travel to either Las Vegas, Nebraska, or Nashville

Work Location & Schedule
This role offers either a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement. Candidates within a 50‑mile radius of a company office will follow our hybrid schedule, working on‑site three days per week. Candidates located outside this radius will work remotely, with occasional travel to offices for meetings or key events.

Pay Range: $120,000-140,000 depending on experience
