You will translate Medical Affairs needs into prioritized roadmaps, define backlogs, and lead AI-enabled modernization across R&D platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MS, or equivalent).
  • 6–8 years of experience owning or managing digital products or platforms in regulated healthcare environments.
  • Experience with SDLC, agile/product management practices, and technology risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end product lifecycle for Medical Affairs technology solutions from strategy to delivery.
  • Translate business and scientific needs into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Define and maintain roadmaps, backlogs, and success metrics with compliance in mind.
  • Lead AI, analytics, and automation initiatives to modernize R&D platforms and enable scalable operations.

Job Overview

This role serves as the technology product owner for Medical Affairs digital capabilities, partnering closely with Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and R&D teams to deliver compliant, scalable, and user centered technology solutions. The Manager, Technology Product Owner plays a critical role in translating Medical Affairs needs into prioritized product roadmaps, ensuring technology solutions support scientific engagement, evidence generation, and patient outcomes while meeting regulatory and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of Medical Affairs technology and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for Medical Affairs technology solutions, from strategy and roadmap through delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and IT stakeholders to translate business and scientific needs into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Define and maintain product roadmaps, backlogs, and success metrics aligned with organizational strategy and compliance requirements.
  • Lead the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms, accelerating product development, improving scientific and engineering insights, and strengthening end to end decision making while enabling scalable, compliant, and efficient R&D operations from discovery through lifecycle management.
  • Lead prioritization decisions by balancing value, risk, compliance, cost, and technical feasibility.
  • Ensure solutions comply with applicable regulations, data privacy standards, and internal quality systems.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams using agile and hybrid methodologies to ensure timely, high‑quality execution.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships supporting Medical Affairs technology platforms.
  • Drive adoption and value realization through change management, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

EducationBachelor’s degree required in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field. Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience and Skills Required

6-8 years of experience owning or managing digital products or platforms supporting Medical Affairs, R&D, or regulated healthcare environments. Working knowledge of enterprise systems, data platforms, cloud technologies, and system integrations within regulated industries. Understanding of SDLC, agile/product management practices, and technology risk management. Ability to translate Medical Affairs and scientific needs into clear, prioritized technology requirements. Experience working within regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences). Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on value delivery and outcomes. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence without direct authority. Strong communication skills to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders at all levels. Experience mentoring team members and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Preferred Experience supporting Medical Affairs use cases such as scientific engagement, evidence generation, medical information, or clinical data analytics. Prior experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Technology Manager in a global organization. Familiarity with regulatory expectations impacting Medical Affairs technology (e.g., data privacy, audit readiness). Experience managing external technology vendors or system integrators.

Other Language

Proficiency in English required.

Travel

Up to 10–20%, primarily domestic, with occasional international travel.

Certifications

Certifications such as Product Owner, Agile, or Project Management (e.g., CSPO, SAFe, PMP) preferred.

Pay Range

The anticipated base pay range for this position is : 102,000.00 - 204,000.00 USD Annual

Additional Description for Pay Transparency: Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
