Job description

Job Description

Are you a highly analytical, business-minded professional who can translate financial and marketing data into clear insights and actionable recommendations? This role is responsible for driving visibility, accountability, and optimization across Marketing investments, connecting financial performance to business outcomes and helping leadership make informed investment decisions.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with a hands-on approach to execution. Success requires the ability to independently manage priorities, navigate cross-functional relationships, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and consistently deliver complete, accurate, executive-ready work with minimal supervision.

Note: This role is hybrid and will be required to work from our Atlanta, GA office at least 3 days per week.

The base salary for this position starts at $90K; commensurate with experience and 10% annual bonus target.

A Day In The Life

The Marketing Planning & Investment Manager sits within the Global Paid Media & Advertising team and serves as a key connection point across Marketing, Finance, Procurement, and agency partners. This role has primary ownership of Marketing investment financial operations, forecasting, and executive reporting.

You will manage cross-functional workstreams from planning through execution, evaluate Marketing investments against expected and realized business outcomes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and drive EBITDA growth.

You will partner closely with Finance and Marketing leadership to manage forecasts, budgets, close-of-month reporting, long-range planning, and investment recommendations. You will also own and continuously improve the processes, tools, documentation, and governance required to effectively manage Marketing investments.

This is a highly visible role that requires strong judgment, proactive communication, and independent execution. You will be expected to anticipate business needs, identify and elevate risks early, drive stakeholders toward resolution, and take accountability for work through completion rather than simply coordinating individual inputs.

What You’ll Do
  • Synthesize marketing, financial, and performance data to support forward-looking planning, investment decisions, and long-range business strategy.
  • Partner with Finance, senior leadership, and cross-functional business partners to develop monthly marketing forecasts, close-of-month reporting, and long-range plans across Paid Media, eCommerce, Loyalty, CRM, Brand Marketing, Sponsorships, and other marketing functions.
  • Develop executive-level reporting and business insights that connect marketing investments to business outcomes, identify performance trends and optimization opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making and ROI growth.
  • Develop and maintain standardized frameworks to evaluate proposed marketing investments, expected business returns, financial impact, and investment efficiency prior to approval.
  • Own and manage global marketing budgets, including ongoing tracking, forecasting, optimization, and reallocation of investments to support business objectives and maximize return.
  • Provide oversight of marketing financial operations, including purchase orders, invoice governance, reconciliation, vendor payment health, contract tracking, and fees, partnering with the Marketing Administrator on day-to-day transaction processing.
  • Own and continuously improve Marketing financial processes, documentation, operating procedures, reporting standards, and governance frameworks to increase accuracy, consistency, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Proactively identify financial, operational, forecasting, and vendor risks, communicate potential impacts, and develop mitigation plans before business operations are affected.
  • Provide regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates to Marketing leadership on investment performance, financial outlook, key risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Marketing, Finance, Business, or a related area preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Marketing, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial acumen, business judgment, and analytical skills, with experience interpreting campaign performance, attribution, and investment returns.
  • Experience developing executive-level reporting, operational processes, and governance documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own complex cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, balance urgent priorities with long-term objectives, and deliver complete, executive-ready work products.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build effective relationships across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and proactive communication, with the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution and a results-driven orientation.
  • Ability to drive process and organizational change while maintaining momentum in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership presence, including the ability to motivate others, maintain a positive and solutions-oriented approach, and demonstrate courageous leadership and accountability.
