Job summary

Philip Morris International U.S. is hiring a Manufacturing Specification Manager to lead a team focused on specification and master data management.

You will oversee implementation and maintenance of manufacturing specifications across PLM and ERP systems, ensuring accurate BOMs and data integrity. The role requires strong leadership, data governance, and cross‑functional collaboration with global teams to align local execution with global standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field.
  • Experience with specification management, master data, or PLM/ERP systems.
  • Leadership experience in manufacturing or regulated environments.
  • 5+ years in operations, quality, or supply chain.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Expertise in data governance and systems (PLM, ERP).
  • Process improvement mindset with strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and prioritization skills.
  • Project management experience with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team focused on specification and master data management.
  • Set team objectives, monitor performance, and support succession planning and long‑term capability building.
  • Oversee implementation, localization, and maintenance of manufacturing specifications across PLM, ERP, and related systems.
  • Ensure accurate translation of specifications into bills of materials, attributes, and master data.
  • Manage workload prioritization, task assignments, and timely execution in alignment with defined processes and service levels.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
  • Monitor data quality and lead corrective and preventive actions (RCA/CAPA), serving as an escalation point for issues.
  • Drive standardization of specification lifecycle processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs to measure operational performance and process effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with global teams and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure alignment between local execution and global standards.
  • Act as a key liaison between manufacturing sites, technical teams, and business functions.
  • Lead and support cross‑functional projects, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate system enhancements, changes, and deployments to improve functionality and performance.
  • Manage external service providers, ensuring performance, quality, and SLA compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and EHSS guidelines, maintaining audit readiness and proper documentation.

Who We’re Looking For

Annual Base Salary Ranges

Aurora – $149,600 - $187,000

Owensboro / Wilson – $136,000 - $170,000

Nice to Have
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (required).
