Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Engineering team, ensuring the timely execution of engineering projects, technical support activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team through effective coaching, performance management, succession planning, and career development.
  • Direct the development, transfer, validation, and sustainment of repair processes, equipment, tooling, and test methods to support product repair and complaint investigations.
  • Ensure repair centers have the technical capabilities, documentation, infrastructure, and engineering support required to maintain efficient, compliant, and reliable repair operations.
  • Lead the implementation, expansion, and transfer of repair lines, including process qualification, validation, capacity planning, and operational readiness activities.
  • Develop and maintain repair procedures, troubleshooting guides, work instructions, test methods, and technical documentation to support standardized repair operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, turnaround time, reliability, and cost through Lean principles and data-driven problem solving.
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, Regulatory, and R&D teams to support product lifecycle management, complaint investigations, corrective actions, and product improvements.
  • Establish and manage diagnostic testing, failure analysis, and investigation strategies for returned and nonconforming products.
  • Support new product introductions by ensuring products are designed for reparability and that repair processes, equipment, tooling, documentation, and training are developed and implemented.
  • Evaluate repair center capabilities, identify operational or technical gaps, and implement solutions to improve performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Develop and support technical training programs for repair technicians and authorize repair centers as required.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve complex technical issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and improve product and process performance.
  • Support monitoring of key performance indicators for repair operations engineering, including quality, productivity, capacity, and cost.
  • Travel up to 20% as required to support repair centers, business partners, and company initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies while supporting the organization's overall compliance objectives.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering required.
  • 10 years of relevant experience required.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience required.
Knowledge And Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses And/or Training
  • Manufacturing and Repair process knowledge.
  • Technical knowledge in development methodologies, design, and project implementation.
  • Proficiency in assessing the value of new ideas based on technical and financial merits.
  • Expert in the use of statistical and analytical techniques for problem-solving (Six Sigma).
