Job summary

Allison Transmission, a historic Indianapolis-based company, is hiring a Manager, Operations to oversee multiple production lines and departments within Plant Operations. The role requires leading salaried supervisors and guiding a large hourly workforce while ensuring safety, cost control, schedules, and quality.

The manager will drive TPM, autonomous maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives, coach teams, and ensure compliance with labor agreements and company culture.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: Required: 3+ years prior Supervisory experience in manufacturing setting.
  • Preferred: 5+ years prior Supervisory experience in manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the selection, training, and development of new employees.
  • Coach, develop, and support team members
  • Manages personnel, material, and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Meets production cost, schedules, and quality requirements through the utilization of established manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Facilitates floor operations and removes barriers for supervisors and hourly employees to meet measurable objectives.
  • Implements and maintains Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Operator Autonomous Maintenance execution, follow up and improvement.
  • Engagement on machine condition continuous improvement
  • Lead OEE improvement across all areas
  • Serve as a leader, trainer, and coach of lean and TPM principles.
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Complies with the terms of the labor agreement.

Job Description
Primary Purpose of Role

The Manager, Operations is responsible for multiple lines and departments within Plant Operations. The Manager directly oversees one or more salaried supervisors with indirect management over a large group of hourly employees. The Manager is accountable for all production processes to be adhered to and continuously improve the performance in area of scope.
