Job summary

Leonardo DRS in West Plains, MO, is seeking a Manager Manufacturing to lead a team of engineers and drive design-to-cost and design-for-manufacture initiatives. The role focuses on coordinating engineering and manufacturing functions to meet schedule and budget while delivering reliable production processes.

You will supervise a technical group, manage budgets, and contribute to proposals and strategic production decisions, with emphasis on collaboration across departments and with customers.

Qualifications

• Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
• Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.
• Communicate clearly with other company personnel and the customer as required.
• Participate in preparation of proposals.
• Supervise and direct the work of others as assigned.
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
• Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings.
• Manage a team of engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Manage a team that oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensure the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively. Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Review, evaluate and implement engineering changes and specification requirements. Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Develop manufacturing process plans, test requirements, manufacturing flow, and capacity plans. Review detail designs for manufacturability and producibility. Lead Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis workshops.
