Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Manager, Legal Programs (Privacy & AI) to lead privacy initiatives and help govern AI across the business. You will partner with Legal, Product, and Engineering to maintain privacy commitments and responsibly advance AI governance.

The role splits time between strengthening privacy compliance and building out an AI governance framework, with collaboration across teams and external counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum: bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years in legal project/program management focusing on privacy or AI governance.
• Experience leading stakeholders and cross-functional teams from start to finish.
• Strong organization with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to manage projects with time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and driving operational results.
• Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks or emerging AI regulation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run and refine the Privacy Program in coordination with Legal, Product, and Engineering.
• Support GDPR, CCPA, and medical privacy laws; maintain data maps and processing records.
• Review privacy risks in new initiatives and coordinate escalation for upper-level review.
• Support the Vendor Review Program from a privacy perspective, including vendor questionnaires and contract input.
• Own implementation of strategic legal initiatives requiring cross-functional collaboration.
• Stand up and operate the AI governance program, developing processes and documentation.
• Maintain inventory of AI systems and use cases; classify new uses as they arise.
• Monitor evolving AI regulations and translate requirements into program updates.
• Coordinate with Legal and Public Policy to monitor privacy and AI legislation.

About the Role:

Hims & Hers is looking for an outstanding Manager, Legal Programs (Privacy & AI) to join our growing Legal team. Splitting your time across our established privacy program and our developing AI governance program, you will partner closely with our Privacy Program Manager, Privacy and AI Counsels, and teams across the business to maintain our privacy commitments, build out responsible AI practices, and help solve complex legal and compliance problems at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and consumer products.

You Will:

Privacy Program

• Partner with our Privacy Program Manager to run and refine the Hims & Hers Privacy Program in close coordination with Legal, Product, and Engineering counterparts

• Help manage compliance with various privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and medical privacy laws—for example, maintaining data maps, records of processing activities, and legitimate interests assessments, and project managing various risk assessments and audits

• Conduct initial reviews on privacy risks in new initiatives, help teams mitigate those risks, and coordinate reviews requiring upper-level review

• Support the Hims & Hers Vendor Review Program from a privacy perspective, including developing and refining questionnaires, coordinating input from other stakeholders, and informing contract negotiations

AI Governance Program

• Help stand up and operate the Hims & Hers AI governance program, developing the processes, workflows, and documentation that support responsible AI use across the business

• Help build and maintain an inventory of AI systems and use cases, coordinating intake and classification as new uses arise

• Monitor the evolving AI regulatory landscape (such as the EU AI Act and emerging U.S. state AI laws) and translate new requirements into practical program updates

Across Both Programs

• Own implementation responsibility for strategic legal initiatives that require close cross-functional work with Product, Engineering, and Marketing

• Coordinate with Legal and Public Policy teams to monitor evolving privacy and AI legislation

You Have:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

• Required: 6+ years of experience in legal project/program management with a focus on privacy and/or AI governance

• Experience managing stakeholders and cross-functional teams from project initiation through close

• Organization skills with the experience managing multiple and sometimes competing priorities

• Project management, time-management and organizational skills

• Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and delivering operational results

• Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams

• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks or emerging AI regulation a plus
