Job summary

RXO is seeking a Manager, Last Mile Operations in Baltimore to lead contract carrier performance and route planning. You will mentor staff, hire and discipline when needed, and ensure policy compliance across the operation. The role requires coordinating dispatch, improving routes, and delivering on-time performance for customers.

The position emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong business acumen. Benefits and a bonus/commission possibility are available.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related logistics and supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or similar.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Availability for varied shifts and travel between branches.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of contract carriers and maintain schedules.
• Develop and mentor staff; train on policies and procedures.
• Interview, hire, discipline, and resolve issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse policies and programs.
• Supervise work; evaluate performance and provide feedback.
• Use route planning software to build efficient routes.
• Manage dispatch and resolve issues throughout the day.
• Identify and restructure routes to improve efficiency.
• Train carriers and dispatchers to meet customer expectations.
• Ensure work is accurate and completed within time frames.
• Capture photos for every job; allocate resources as needed.

Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set.As a Manager, Last Mile Operations at RXO, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with customers, assist in route planning and monitoring, and build a bright professional future.What your day-to-day will look like:Oversee the daily operations of contract carriers, including maintaining contractor schedules, monitoring routes, reports and fostering positive working relationships with contract carriers and helpersDevelop and mentor staff to reach goals; train staff on company policies and proceduresCarry out managerial responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and resolving issuesEnsure compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures, and programsSupervise employees in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints/resolving problemsUse route planning software to build efficient delivery routesManage the dispatch of contract carriers and resolve issues throughout the dayIdentify problem areas, including restructuring routes to improve operational efficienciesTrain and develop contract carriers, and dispatchers to meet and exceed customer expectationsEnsure that all work is completed accurately and within established time frameEnsure photos are taken for every jobAllocate and request additional resources as neededAt a minimum, you’ll need:5 years of related logistics and supervisory experienceExperience with Microsoft Office such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.It’d be great if you also have:Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or similarAvailability to work a variety of shifts, including holidays, days, evenings, nights, and weekends; travel between branches and regions occasionallyExperience mentoring, training, and guiding newer/less-experienced team membersBilingual English/Spanish (read, write, and speak both languages)Strong business acumen with the willingness to act in partnership with management teamsDoes this sound like you?
