Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management seeks a capable leader to oversee Geneva and Conneaut Medical Centers' laboratory operations, including phlebotomy, processing, and core lab functions. The role manages equipment implementations, liaises with IT, and ensures regulatory compliance for safe, efficient services in a rural health setting.

The position also expands outreach lab activities, maintains PHI safeguards, and adheres to UH policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees general laboratory operations including in-patient phlebotomy, processing, core laboratory technical operations, financial and billing aspects of the core lab, and report generation for strategic decisions.
• Serves as a resource for Technical Coordinators and other lab leaders in core laboratory operations.
• Leads implementation and verification oversight of new equipment and acts as project manager for those implementations.
• Directs, develops, and operates the outreach laboratory business.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Acts as liaison with IT to ensure smooth operations of laboratory systems and services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards including PHI safeguarding and annual training.

A Brief Overview

Position will have oversight for Geneva and Conneaut Medical Centers

Geneva and Conneaut Medical Centers provide the residents of Geneva and Conneaut and the surrounding communities with high-quality health care. These 25-bed non-profit, acute care hospitals are designated as Critical Access Hospitals, a federal program designed to ensure that individuals in rural areas have access to emergency care and other essential medical services.

• Oversees general laboratory operations that include but are not limited to, in-patient phlebotomy, processing, core laboratory technical operations, financial and billing aspects of the core lab, special report generation and analysis necessary for strategic decision making.
• Shall serve as a resource for Technical Coordinators and other leaders in all aspects of core laboratory operational matters.
• Is also involved in and responsible for the implementation and verification oversight of all new equipment and serves as project manager for those implementations.
• Takes a leadership role in the directing, developing and operating the outreach laboratory business.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable accreditation, local, state & federal regulations.
• Acts as the liaison with IT to ensure smooth operations of laboratory systems and services.
