Job Title: Manager of IT Programs and Desktop Management
Position Overview:
The Manager of IT Programs and Desktop Management oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of desktop computing environments and related IT programs within an organization. This role ensures the smooth operation, security, and alignment of desktop systems with business needs. Responsibilities include managing desktop hardware and software upgrades, user access controls, and technical support for end-users, while also coordinating larger IT programs related to desktop infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Desktop Management
• Oversee the lifecycle of desktop hardware and software, including procurement, deployment, upgrades, and disposal.
• Maintain desktop operating systems, configurations, and security settings.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to desktop computers and peripherals.
• Implement and enforce desktop security policies and standards.
• Manage user access controls and permissions.
IT Program Management
• Lead and coordinate IT projects related to desktop infrastructure, including hardware deployments and software upgrades.
• Define project scope, timelines, budget, and deliverables for desktop-related IT programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
User Support
• Provide technical support to end-users on desktop issues, including troubleshooting and training.
• Manage user accounts and access levels.
• Develop and deliver user training materials on desktop applications and best practices.
Vendor Management
• Evaluate and select vendors for desktop hardware and software.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
• Analyze desktop performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement optimization strategies to enhance desktop efficiency and user experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong understanding of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and hardware.
• Seven (7)+ years’ experience working in Desktop Management.
• Experience with desktop management tools and technologies.
• Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and timelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for user and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide comprehensive user support.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
