Centene is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead and coordinate program managers across large IT initiatives. You will provide oversight, set direction, and ensure successful delivery of programs through structured governance, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Manges project and program managers in all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Performs resource planning and monitors program costs, budgets, staffing, quality and risks.
  • Leads knowledge sharing and develops team capabilities.
  • Oversees stakeholders and delivers IT objectives.
  • Hires and trains staff; conducts performance reviews and coaching.
  • Communicates organizational objectives and motivates the team.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

Manages program managers who are responsible for providing the overarching leadership and guidance on programs and large projects (both waterfall and agile). Staffs project and program managers, provides oversight for programs and projects, serving as a point of escalation as needed. Delivers, measures, and manages performance in addition to providing input and collaboration on interdependencies within projects, programs, and systems.

  • Manages project and program managers in all phases of the project life cycle
  • Performs resource planning
  • Determines, monitors, reviews, and reports on all program attributes including program costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, quality, and risks
  • Shares knowledge and develops team capabilities to strengthen understanding of IT and industry, business and best practices
  • Executes on IT objectives through oversight and management of stakeholders
  • Manages the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conducts performance reviews, provides leadership, technical guidance and coaching
  • Develops and communicates organizational objectives; inspires and motivates team members to achieve results
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
Education/Experience

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Pay Range: $121,500.00 - $224,900.00 per year
