Overall Job Summary:

Reporting to the Logistics Director, the Inbound Logistics Manager is responsible for leading the inbound logistics team to ensure the timely and efficient fulfillment of manufacturing requirements, as well as overseeing intercompany equipment movements in support of Eos production. This fast-paced role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities, and most importantly, effective leadership to build a high-performing team and drive operational success.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the inbound (Supplier to Eos factory) logistics team and day-to-day operations, working directly with supply chain & manufacturing to execute on a delivery plan that will meet manufacturing timeline requirements.
  • Proactively identify risks in supply chain planning & manufacturing processes as it relates to inbound logistics and develop processes to mitigate those risks
  • Ensure Transportation Management System is being used and sufficient to set up the team for success.
  • Maintain team KPIs & develop processes (or process improvements) where needed to ensure all KPIs are met.
  • Delegate expedited shipment requests in a timely manner, document reasons for expediting, drive corrective action cross functionally and drive reduction in occurrences.
  • Continually review freight cost & transportation lanes for cost efficiency.
  • Engage internal and external resources as needed to ensure logistics compliance including but not limited to documentation, import classifications & hazmat codes.
  • Be safety culture supporter within logistics and materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement goals and strategies.
  • Ensure team has the tools to be successful & mentor team to work at best possible level to ensure world class execution.
  • Build and Maintain carrier strategy and relationships to support the business needs
  • Delegate and support the filing of transportation claims as needed & lead Logistics activities to support the claims
  • Work with Logistics Leadership peers to develop and document department SOPs
  • Lead carrier performance management through the establishment of carrier scorecards; conduct regular business reviews to monitor service levels, on time delivery, claims performance, capacity commitments and cost competitiveness
  • Drive logistics network optimization through the analysis of transportation networks, route guides, shipment consolidation opportunities, and warehouse-to-factory flows to improve efficiency and reduce total landed cost
  • Lead talent development and succession planning through the recruitment, development and retention of logistics talent while creating development plans that strengthen organizational capabilities and support succession planning

Education/Experience :
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or related field required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics operations
  • Hazmat Certified preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Vast knowledge of legal regulations and logistics compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and escape challenges to leadership effectively.
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP/TMS).
  • Must have extensive knowledge and experience in scheduling domestic trucking, international ocean and air freight, and inbound customs.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Hazmat Certification and experience preferred.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to travel as needed (minimal).
  • Have impeccable leadership skills
Travel
  • Overnight/North America: 25-50%
Working Conditions
  • Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Factory - The worker may be subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to temperature changes or exposure to chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, odors, dust, mists, and gases. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and lab coats. May be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Customer/Partner Locations – Employee may visit customer or partner locations that may be comprised of office, manufacturing floor, laboratory environments and construction sites depending on the location and reason for visit.
