Big Brand Tire & Service is seeking a Manager In Training to join our results-focused team in Arroyo Grande, CA. You will be responsible for leading front-line operations, delivering an exceptional guest experience, and bridging communication between technicians and customers.

The role offers pathways into Store Management or multi-unit leadership, with opportunities for commission, overtime, and comprehensive benefits. Weekend availability is expected to support peak business times.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in automotive service management or retail leadership.
• Strong service sales background (tires, brakes, maintenance).
• Proven ability to lead a high-volume, fast-paced team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Self-starter with accountability and growth mindset.
• Open weekend availability to support peak times.

Responsibilities

• Lead front to back: open/close, daily plan, safety, efficiency.
• Own the guest experience: greet, advise, estimate, explain work, close sales.
• Bridge between technicians and customers; translate inspections into recommendations.
• Develop the team: coach advisors and techs, reinforce process, celebrate wins.
• Run the business: inventory, cash handling, scheduling, KPI tracking.
• Cover Store Manager duties when needed.

Manager In Training

• Lead from the front: open/close, set the daily game plan, keep the shop safe, clean, and efficient


• Own the guest experience: greet, advise, build estimates, explain work clearly, close sales with confidence


• Be the bridge between techs and customers; translate inspections into trusted recommendations


• Develop the team: coach advisors and techs, reinforce process, celebrate wins, address gaps


• Run the business: inventory & ordering, cash handling/POS, scheduling, KPI tracking, compliance (OSHA/EHS)


• Cover the deck when the Store Manager is out; model elite standards on every shift

What Makes You a Great Fit

• At least 1–3 years of experience in automotive service management or retail repair leadership


• Strong background in service sales (tires, brakes, maintenance, or mechanical)


• Proven ability to lead a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment


• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills


• Valid driver’s license + ability to lift 70 lbs (jumping in when needed is part of the job)


• A self-starter who thrives on results, accountability, and growth


• Open availability, including weekends, to lead and support the team during peak business times
