Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Bellevue, WA seeks a Manager III, Plan/Dev to lead capacity planning across the North American network, collaborating with Finance, S&OP and Field Ops to surface opportunities and drive data‑driven decisions.

You will partner with Data Engineers and Product managers to enhance reporting pipelines, scale planning across systems, manage a team of labor planners, and deliver mid‑ to long‑term volume and capacity plans for internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze capacity performance across the North American network using historical data and planning inputs.

  • Enhance reporting pipelines and dashboards (Tableau/QuickSight) and scale planning across systems.
  • Lead and develop a team of labor planners (6+) to diagnose capacity challenges.
  • Drive operational excellence and eliminate inefficiencies with partners.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and maintain dashboards to track performance.
  • Develop SOPs and continuous improvement processes for operations.
  • Create strategic plans for internal customers with mid- to long-term views.
  • Assess future network programs for impact on capacity, cost, speed, and reliability.
  • Travel up to 20% as required.

Position: Manager III, Plan/Dev - AMZ10920.10

Location: Bellevue, WA

Multiple Positions Available:

  1. Analyze capacity performance across the North American network, using historical data, forecast accuracy metrics, and planning system inputs to identify constraints and surface improvement opportunities within supply chain planning mechanisms.

  2. Leverage operational metrics and analytical models to collaborate with cross-functional teams—Finance, S&OP, Field Ops—identifying opportunities for process and system optimization, and influencing decision‑making through data‑driven recommendations.

  3. Collaborate with technical stakeholders including Data Engineers and Supply Chain product managers to enhance reporting pipelines, improve dashboard functionality (Tableau/QuickSight), and scale planning mechanisms across upstream and downstream systems.

  4. Retrieve and analyze data using Excel, SQL and leverage data to support the future state of the business using tools such as Tableau and other data management systems.

  5. Lead and develop a team of at least 6 labor planners responsible for diagnosing complex NACF capacity planning challenges, often in ambiguous scenarios where the opportunity or solution strategy is not clearly defined.

  6. Drive operational excellence initiatives in Amazon's Supply Chain by aligning with technical and business partners across Fulfillment Centers, Finance, and S&OP to implement scalable planning processes and eliminate inefficiencies.

  7. Conduct root cause investigations and trend analysis to resolve planning and execution barriers, maintaining key metrics and dashboards to track performance, highlight anomalies, and identifying drivers of defects.

  8. Develop and implement continuous improvement processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal operations and new programs.

  9. Create strategic plan for internal customers. Ensure on‑time delivery of the plan, providing customers with a mid‑to long‑term view on expected volumes and capacity, which are critical inputs for these teams to run their operation, transportation and labor planning.

  10. Analyze future network programs and designs to understand their impact and assess risks on capacity, cost, speed, and reliability, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive and align analysis and business cases.

Domestic or international travel up to 20% to perform role responsibilities be required.

Basic Qualifications

A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Management Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Management Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Experience must include:

1) 1 year of experience in business analysis, strategy, or consulting, involving cross‑functional collaboration to solve complex logistics or automotive supply chain planning or operational problems using data‑driven insights.

2) 1 year of experience in applying statistical methods including regression analysis, variance decomposition, and forecasting models—to validate business assumptions, build scalable business cases, and conduct root cause investigations across supply chain and logistics operations.

3) 1 year of experience leading process improvement initiatives, including implementing Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) or contributing to Agile development cycles to optimize processes within automotive and logistics supply chain networks, reducing manual intervention and enhancing operational efficiency.

4) 1 year of experience in translating complex quantitative data into simple, intuitive dashboards and reports, and effectively present findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable format.

5) 1 year of experience in data extraction, analysis, and business case development using tools such as SQL, advanced Excel (including Power Pivot and VBA), and Microsoft Access to support operational and strategic decision‑making in logistics and automotive supply chain functions.

The pay range for this position in Bellevue, WA is $142800 - $193200 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign‑on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided by Washington Equal Pay Act. Base pay information is based on market location.
