Kansas State University’s Provost Office seeks a Manager, Human Resources to lead HR operations, oversee staffing and onboarding, and provide strategic HR recommendations across departments serving the Provost and constituents.

The Manager, Human Resources for the Provost Office is responsible for executing employee personnel actions, leading HR professionals, administering HR policies, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance HR processes. This role involves overseeing daily HR operations, monitoring staffing plans, and ensuring effective communication and support for the departments that serve the Provost and its constituents. This position provides leadership which includes oversight and management of human resources processes of three staff members.
A typical day will include leading day-to-day HR operations overseeing processes and procedures which include support with position descriptions, managing the recruiting process, managing daily HR employee processes, and providing onboarding/offboarding for the units served. As a team leader, this position will monitor and evaluate employee skill development to reach current and future objectives of the team. As such, it is important that the HR be able to instill a customer-focused service attitude within the team while maintaining a collaborative, supportive, and productive environment.
The ideal candidate will be able to cultivate professional relationships by understanding departmental nuances to provide credible solutions. They will be an effective communicator who is able to initiate and maintain professional relationships with a diverse group of colleagues. A successful candidate will advocate for the development of people strategies by consulting with other areas of HR on processes related to payroll, benefits, employee relations, compensation, and talent management.
