Job summary

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in Business, Industrial or Inventory Management, Operations Planning or Logistics.
  • Seven years in a manufacturing planning or operations environment, including two years in Order Scheduling, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics or Manufacturing Management.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational abilities.
  • Leadership experience in cross-disciplinary teams; staff management preferred.
  • Ability to coach and develop others and promote a high-performance work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management in inventory planning.
  • Oversee, guide and mentor Master Planners to ensure goals are met.
  • Assist planners in detailed scheduling and decision making as needed.
  • Promote improvement strategies to optimize material and production planning processes.
  • Oversee implementation of new planning tools and systems enhancements for efficiency.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Dynamet Incorporated, based in Clearwater, Florida, is a leading domestic and international supplier of titanium alloy products. Acquired by Carpenter Technology in 1997, Dynamet supplies titanium bar, wire, fine wire, strip, and precision shapes for the aerospace, medical, consumer, motorsports and recreation industries. Committed to offering excellence and innovation in the manufacture of titanium and other specialty metal products, Dynamet ensures strict quality controls through its testing and analysis laboratory. Dynamet maintains a second manufacturing facility in western Pennsylvania.

TITLE: MANAGER II - PLANNING & INVENTORY
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANAGER II - PLANNING & INVENTORY
  • Provide overall management in the capacity of inventory planning.
  • Oversee, guide and mentor Master Planners to ensure that they are achieving their goals, objectives and the greater company need.
  • Assist planners in detailed scheduling and decision making as needed.
  • Promote suggestions and develop improvement strategies and plans to optimize the material and production planning processes.
  • Oversee implementation of new planning tools and systems enhancements to increase the efficiency of the manufacturing operation.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED FOR THE MANAGER II - PLANNING & INVENTORY
  • Four-year college degree with a concentration in Business, Industrial or InventoryManagement, Operations Planning or Logistics. APICS certification desired
  • Minimum of seven years in a manufacturing planning or operations environment, including a minimum of two years' experience in Order Scheduling, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics or Manufacturing Management. Leadership roles in cross-discipline teams or projects; experience managing staff preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze information and provide creative solutions.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills, and Interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and control emotional situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational and organizational problems.
  • Develop relationships with key customers to identify emerging needs.
  • Effectively coach and give performance feedback that provides development opportunities within or across areas or departments.
  • Ability and motivation to promote a high-performance work environment.
  • Ability to direct and supervise employees, to objectively evaluate performance, to lead inter-disciplinary activities in solving complex problems, to train and develop others, and to organize, prioritize, and lead multiple tasks and make appropriate decisions to complete objectives.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
