Job summary

Uber is seeking an Engineering Manager II in Sunnyvale, CA to lead diverse engineering teams through scale and complex platforms. You’ll translate product strategy into actionable roadmaps, drive technical vision, and ensure delivery of high-impact features for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of total experience in software engineering with at least 2-3 years directly managing engineering teams.
• Translate company direction into a strategic mission rooted in primary customer needs.
• Experience providing clarity to both direct and dependent teams to maintain productivity and alignment on deliverables.
• Track record of building inclusive teams with the right mix of skills and seniority to deliver against business needs.
• Experience driving operational excellence through the review of metrics, incidents, and post-mortems for continuous improvement.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and drive changes for the greater good of Uber, even when at odds with immediate team interests.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $232,000 per year - USD $258,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $232,000 per year - USD $258,000 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
