J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Lowell, AR seeks a Manager II to lead a carrier payables team. Under general direction, this role makes time-sensitive decisions, prioritizes work, and drives accurate processing of payments in a fast-paced finance environment.

You will oversee settlements, audits, and disputes, develop process improvements and automation, collaborate with legal and risk teams, and present budgeting and financial updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of finance or transportation/logistics experience.
• Preference for a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration/Management, Communication, or Transportation/Logistics.

Responsibilities

• Leads talent identification, development, performance, and overall management for carrier payables including managers.
• Communicates and escalates issues causing lost revenue or payment delays.
• Identifies areas for process improvements and automation to raise efficiency.
• Contributes to Carrier Payables department projects and initiatives.
• Responsible for large settlements and coordinating with legal and risk management.
• Performs audits and disputes on valid charges with internal/external stakeholders.
• Develops strategies to strengthen carrier relationships.
• Leads budgeting and reporting activities and presents updates to stakeholders.

Under general direction, this positions manages a team of carrier payable personnel. This individual will possess a high level ability to make time-sensitive decisions, manage multiple competing priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. The position requires experience in a finance function and managing a team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Leads talent identification, development, performance, and overall management efforts for a carrier payables team, including managers of people
• Communicates and escalates any issues resulting in lost revenue or delay in payment
• Identifies areas for process improvements & automations to improve efficiencies
• Contributes to the Carrier Payables department's projects & initiatives
• Responsible for large settlements and collaborating legal & risk management
• Compiles regular audits to research/dispute valid charges, compile and send to internal / external stakeholders, manage responses for accuracy, conduct audit meetings to explain disputes, adjust orders
• Leads in developing strategies to strengthen carrier relationships
• Networks and builds relationships with internal & external stakeholders by solving and responding to financial inquiries and complaints
• Leads budgeting process including producing thorough, accurate and timely budget and expense management reports for the organization
• Responsible for developing and presenting updates to internal/external stakeholders
• Leads with applicable closing, allocation and financial reporting duties

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• AND 2-3 years of finance OR transportation/logistics experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration/Management, Communication, OR Transportation/Logistics
• AND 3-4 years of finance experience OR transportation/logistics experience
• AND 3-4 years accounting/payroll experience

Compensation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
