ASM is seeking a Manager I, Manufacturing Operations to lead a team of Process Technicians supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations. This leader will be responsible for developing a high-performing technical workforce, driving operational excellence, and ensuring consistent execution of manufacturing processes that support safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.

As a people leader within the factory organization, you will work closely with Process Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to optimize performance, solve complex operational challenges, and build scalable capabilities that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Process Technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Drive day-to-day manufacturing execution to ensure operational targets related to safety, quality, output, and cycle time are consistently achieved.
  • Establish workforce plans, staffing models, and skill development strategies to support evolving manufacturing requirements.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to identify process gaps, resolve technical challenges, and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Champion the development and execution of technician training, certification, and qualification programs.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, quality, and equipment utilization.
  • Lead shift operations and resource allocation activities to ensure effective coverage and support of production priorities.
  • Foster standardized work practices and operational discipline across all shifts and manufacturing areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem-solving methodologies.
  • Support implementation of digital manufacturing solutions, automation initiatives, and advanced analytics to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Build strong partnerships across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality organizations to achieve business objectives.
  • Promote ASM values while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related STEM field.
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced technology manufacturing, or a similar technical environment.
  • Experience leading technical teams, projects, or manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex operational or technical challenges in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience developing and coaching employees through structured training and capability-building programs.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within semiconductor wafer fabrication, deposition, advanced packaging, or related manufacturing technologies.
  • Prior leadership experience managing technicians, operators, or manufacturing teams.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), manufacturing KPIs, and factory performance management.
  • Experience driving operational excellence initiatives with demonstrated business impact.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), automated production environments, and data-driven manufacturing.
  • Experience leveraging digital tools, automation, AI, or advanced analytics to improve manufacturing performance and workforce productivity.
