Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a strategic leader to head the High Voltage Systems Research org, including Battery Systems Tech and Modeling & Controls. You will drive roadmaps aligned with product goals and oversee GTDS projects to mature technology for production.

You will partner with Electrified Propulsion Engineering and other stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge battery tech with improved performance, durability, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in high-voltage battery systems or electrified propulsion.
  • 5–10 years of experience leading and developing technical engineering teams.
  • Experience turning research into production-ready technologies and roadmaps.
  • Strong knowledge of battery systems, modeling, controls, thermal management, and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the High Voltage Systems Research organization across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps aligned with business and product objectives.
  • Lead advanced technology projects through the Global Technology Development System (GTDS).
  • Partner with Product Development in Electrified Propulsion Engineering and other stakeholders to transition technologies to production.
  • Guide battery system technologies including thermal management, modeling, and control strategies.
  • Drive innovations to improve performance, efficiency, durability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage project portfolios, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing technical team.

Job description

• Lead and develop the High Voltage Systems Research organization, including the Battery Systems Technology and Battery Modeling & Controls teams.
• Develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps aligned with business and product objectives.
• Lead advanced technology projects through the Global Technology Development System (GTDS).
• Partner with Product Development partners in Electrified Propulsion Engineering (EPE) and other stakeholders to mature and transition technologies into production.
• Guide the development of battery system technologies, including thermal management, structural integration, battery modeling, and control strategies.
• Drive innovations that improve battery performance, efficiency, durability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage the organization’s project portfolio, budgets, and resource planning.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing technical team capable of delivering across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Foster collaboration across research, product development, manufacturing, and validation organizations.
• Communicate technical strategy, project status, and key recommendations to engineering leadership.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience in high-voltage battery systems or electrified propulsion technologies.
  • 5–10 years of experience leading and developing technical engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience developing advanced technologies from research through production implementation.
  • Strong understanding of battery systems, battery modeling, controls, thermal management, and system integration.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop technology strategies, roadmaps, and research portfolios.
  • Experience managing technical project budgets, priorities, and resource planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
