Job Overview
The SGO currently has an extraordinary opportunity for a skilled collaborator who is passionate about patient advocacy and governance to join the team as the Manager of Health Policy & Government Affairs. We are looking for an individual to bring their dedication and excitement to our fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The successful incumbent will be highly detail orientated, organized, and collaborative while managing multiple projects simultaneously. They will see the big picture and embrace change to ensure they meet their goals and the goals of the SGO and FWC.
The Manager of Health Policy & Government Affairs manages activities related to federal legislative and regulatory advocacy to support patients and professionals, amplify research and promote equitable access to gynecologic cancer care. The Manager of Health Policy & Government Affairs will focus on Congressional appropriations for gynecologic oncology research, Medicare physician coverage and reimbursement issues, as well as innovative care models and payment reform. In addition, the position will support efforts on evolving policy issues pertaining to practice such as drug shortages, telehealth, and federally funded programs that increase prevention, screening, and treatment of gynecologic cancers.
The Manager of Health Policy & Government Affairs directs the work of our government relations consulting and lobbying firm and works with the three Health Policy and Socioeconomic subcommittees: Legislative Affairs, Coding and Reimbursement, and Quality Care, liaising with internal volunteer members, government consultants, and external stakeholders to execute the Advocacy components of the SGO strategic plan.
What You Will Do
This position is responsible for policy advocacy in partnership with our government relationship consulting firm. In this role you will manage coding and reimbursement specific to advocacy and education; support quality improvement initiatives; collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop marketing plans that promote advocacy initiatives and resources; serve as the lead staff liaison for various committees; track and report on the implementation of strategic objectives related to advocacy; develop and manage operating budgets; and manage relationships and contracts with external partners.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience. The hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability benefits; vacation time, sick time, 11 named holidays and 3 floating holidays, and parental leave.

Requirements for Success
The work of the SGO is conducted primarily in a remote office environment with occasional requirements to be onsite for group meetings and events. Travel is required approximately10 days per year.
