Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking an HIM Manager to plan, direct, and oversee the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department. The role ensures the integrity, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and proper management of health information systems and medical records across the organization.

Job description

The Health Information Management (HIM) Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department. The manager ensures the integrity, availability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance of the organization's health information systems and medical records. This position provides leadership and operational oversight for document management, release of information, chart completion, record retention, privacy compliance, data integrity, and electronic health record (EHR) functions.

The HIM Manager collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, compliance, revenue cycle, legal counsel, information technology, and other healthcare leaders to support organizational goals, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and exceptional patient care.

JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Health Information Management, Healthcare administration or Business Administration- required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Health Information Management, ): Healthcare Administration, Business administration- preferred

Licensure/certifications:

• RHIA, RHIT, CHPS- preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible for Health Information Management experience- required
• Minimum of 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting. Experience with acute care hospital operations- preferred
