Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking an HIM Manager to plan, direct, and oversee daily operations of the Health Information Management Department. You will ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance of health information systems and medical records.

You will collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, compliance, revenue cycle, legal counsel, IT, and other leaders to support quality patient care and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in HIM/Healthcare Admin or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in HIM/Healthcare Admin/Healthcare Administration.
• RHIA/RHIT/CHPS preferred.

The manager ensures the integrity, availability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance of the organization's health information systems and medical records. This position provides leadership and operational oversight for document management, release of information, chart completion, record retention, privacy compliance, data integrity, and electronic health record (EHR) functions.The HIM Manager collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, compliance, revenue cycle, legal counsel, information technology, and other healthcare leaders to support organizational goals, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and exceptional patient care.JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTSEducation:- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Health Information Management, Healthcare administration or Business Administration- required- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Health Information Management, ): Healthcare Administration, Business administration- preferredLicensure/certifications:- RHIA, RHIT, CHPS- preferredExperience:- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible for Health Information Management experience- required- Minimum of 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
