Job Title: Manager, HCP Engagement Operations

Department: Medical Affairs

Location: US, Remote

Reports To: Director, Medical Operations

Type: Contract

Position Summary:

The Manager, HCP Engagement Operations is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end operational processes related to healthcare professional (HCP) engagements across the organization. This includes ensuring compliant, efficient, and timely execution of HCP interactions for medical, commercial, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of HCP engagements, including advisory boards, consulting arrangements, and ad hoc engagements.
  • Ensure all HCP interactions are executed in compliance with company policies, SOPs, and relevant regulatory codes (e.g., PhRMA, EFPIA, local regulations).
  • Lead the submission, review, and approval processes for HCP engagements, including managing documentation, routing requests, coordinating signatures, and tracking deliverables.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for HCP engagement systems and tools; provide training and user support to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Medical Affairs, Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and Finance to streamline operations and resolve issues.
  • Monitor metrics and generate reports to provide visibility into engagement volume, turnaround time, compliance KPIs, and process improvements.
  • Support audits, inspections, and monitoring activities by preparing documentation and responding to findings related to HCP engagements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead or participate in projects to enhance operational efficiency and standardization.
  • Ensure proper onboarding and tracking of HCPs, including fair market value (FMV) assessments, background checks, and payment processing in collaboration with vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, PharmD) preferred.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience, with at least 3 years in HCP engagement operations, medical operations, or compliance-related functions.
  • Strong knowledge of HCP engagement compliance requirements (e.g., Sunshine Act, anti-kickback laws, international codes).
  • Experience managing operational workflows and supporting enterprise platforms
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, influence without authority, and drive alignment in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with international HCP engagement processes.
  • Familiarity with global transparency and aggregate spend requirements.
  • Proven ability to implement and improve operational processes in a fast-paced setting.
  • Change management and training experience a plus.
