This position will be primarily focused on the financial oversight and management of grants. The Manager will supervise a team of 10 Financial Grant Administrators. Accounting education and experience required.
Job Summary
Manage and facilitate the development of funding through highly competitive federal, state, foundation and corporate grants. Coordinate, manage and maintains efficiencies in grant development and administration activities including initial research, creation of timelines, identification or resources, proposal writing, budget development, data collection, internal approval processes, submission of grant proposals to potential funding agencies and financial management. Oversee complex grant development processes and proposals required to ensure that proposed strategies meet the needs of Sanford Health while complying with grant guidelines and internal submission policy.
Collaborate with outside stakeholders for grant development and implementation. Network with internal and external grant stakeholders, as well as other grant development professionals.
Accountable for grant submission sites, central grant, contract files and grant management data. Stay current in relation to changing grant standards and proposal guidelines, and write, edit and approve grants accordingly.
Provide writing/budget development assistance, which can range from critiquing, editing and rewriting drafts to writing an entire proposal. Ensure submission of complete and accurate applications within grant deadlines.
Produces thorough, accurate and timely budget, expense management, and variance reports for all Sanford grants. Provides effective financial forecasting, planning and control mechanisms for all Sanford grants.
Provide financial expertise in budgeting, proper accounting and reporting of all Sanford Health grants.
Work with external auditors during all types of audits. Manage and facilitate the administration of private and public grant awards. Maintain grant and contract files, review contracts, progress reports and closed grants.
Interpret and apply federal grant regulations and cost accounting standards to federal awards. Manage the applicable Office of Grants administrators.
Manage the department budget. Responsible for the interviewing, hiring and discipline of employees, and any other personnel issues that may arise. Complete performance appraisals.
May require travel to a variety of off-site settings. Flexible hours and some weekends may be expected.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Accounting, Journalism, Communications, Healthcare or a related field. Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of ten years of grant, contract or related experience required.
Grant Professionals Certification (GPC), Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS), Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Juris Doctor (JD) or Certified Pre-award Research Administrator (CPRA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
