Position Brand Description:

The Manager Global Supply Chain position offers a unique opportunity to gain deep understanding of our global pharmaceutical business.This position is responsible for analyzing demand and inventory data at IBU affiliates to ensure an accurate demand signal as input to the Global Sales and Operation Planning (GS&OP) process. The role is ensuring completeness of the demand statement in SAP, analyzing demand and production plan data in support of business planning processes, supporting new launches and line extensions through master data setup, and ensuring master data quality. In addition, the Manager Global Supply Chain may be asked to lead small to medium-scale projects, line extension launches, and/or lead supply chain processes for late life cycle products. The role requires the Manager Global Supply Chain to work closely with the internal and external manufacturing sites within the network and affiliate forecast coordinators in support of the Global Launch Leader and/or GSC product owner. This position is key to making medicines available to our patients at the right time.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Analyze demand data and metrics and lead monthly demand review process with IBU affiliates / hubs.
  • Analyze demand and production plans in support of molecule business planning.
  • Support key supply chain processes such as molecule risk assessments, inventory targeting, and maintenance of supply chain maps and supply guidelines for his/her assigned molecules via analysis of SAP data (demand, supply, shipping) and interaction with molecule GPLOTs.
  • Ensure completeness of the demand statement in SAP through review of sales and forecast reports and interact with affiliate forecasters and Global Business Solutions teams to resolve identified issues
  • Analyze supply and demand metrics for assigned molecules for inclusion in published reports and discussion at the GS&OP meetings. Propose solutions to identified issues and monitor and drive improvements.
  • Establish and troubleshoot replenishment planning through maintenance of master data
  • Establish new SKUs for new product launches and line extensions and ensure forecast completeness
  • Support IBU product allocations and ensure appropriate execution set-up in SAP
  • Provide demand and product related input to support Global Launch Leaders and GSC Product Owners in providing status updates to manufacturing senior leadership, business units, affiliates, and global launch teams.
  • Provide technical expertise and coaching to customers at affiliates, GBS, and others as appropriate.
  • Support Business Development deals as part of product lifecycle management (launches and discontinuations/divestitures)
  • Support GSC IBU Leadership team with regular updates on key initiatives / projects

Basic Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Materials Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Manufacturing

Additional Preferences

  • Expertise in SAP and associated demand planning systems
  • Systems Use/Knowledge – Strong computer-based skills. Foundational understanding of Microsoft Office programs and Power BI required, including capability to use spreadsheets for data analysis. Information reporting systems experience (i.e. Business Objects) preferred.
  • Communication -- Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to summarize and present complex data using Power Point slides.
  • General business skills – Business savvy, strong people relationships, flexible and adaptable, able to deal with ambiguity. Strong self-management and organizational skills. High attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data sets. Collaborate effectively with Global Launch Leaders, Manufacturing sites, and key affiliates.
  • Demonstrate global awareness and be willing to work globally among different time zones. Bilingual preferred.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge – APICS certification preferred. Prefer 3-5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Manufacturing site or affiliate experience preferred.

Other Information:

  • Travel – 5%
  • This role is based onsite at our Indianapolis, IN site at least 4 days per week and is not eligible for remote work.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$57,750 - $129,800

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
