Job summary

The USO in Arlington, VA is hiring a Manager, Gifts Administration to lead gifts operations within the Development team. You will ensure data integrity, process gifts accurately, and support fundraising staff across international and military audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in fundraising/development operations.

The Manager Gifts Administration performs key operations related activities for the Development department and partners with internal and external parties to ensure compliance pertaining to recording gifts The incumbent also manages supporting staff Principal Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties Development Operations Provides customer service support to fundraisers regional staff other departments and partner agencies regarding gifts transactions data entry operational processes or implementation of new systemsCollaborate closely with Finance department to ensure proper gift designation and accounting requirements matching gift requirements etc are met as well as ensure data consistency between finance systems and fundraising databases Operate as the gifts processing SMEOversees data quality and transaction accuracy and manages customer service related to the USOs charitable contributions Manages and advises on the reporting of charitable giving activityOversee and perform monthly financial reconciliation process for DevOps to ensure parity between Finance data and Development Operations data including tracking open receivablesOversee including developing implementing and monitoring operational protocols for all major gifts planned gifts foundation corporate and third party fundraising effortsServes as primary backup to the Director Gifts & Data Systems Administration for gifts related topics including decision making responsibilities providing support to the Gifts & Data Systems teams and cross training team members within the teamsCollaborate with Director Gifts & Data Systems Administration in creation of Development Operations Policy and Procedures and best practice job aidesCollaborate with Director Gifts & Data Systems Administration in ownership and management of fundraising vendor relationships including updating vendor gift processing instructionsCollaborate with cross functional teams on the creation and review of reports and data requests to ensure consistent data definitions adherence to enterprise data governance the optimal use of existing resources as well as defining and conducting data hygiene processesOversee including developing reviewing and monitoring receipt and acknowledgement process with the Coordinator Gifts & DataProvide pro active and reactive data support for fundraisers as neededLead manage and mentor staff reportsOther duties as assigned

This is an in person position located in Arlington VA

Job Specifications Bachelors Degree in Marketing Business Administration or related field preferred5 years work experience in a fundraisingdevelopment operations role including 1 years in a supervisory capacity Relevant experience in a non profit military multicultural andor global organization preferredStrong analytical communications and organization skillsKnowledge of Salesforce is a plusStrong interpersonal customer service and problem solving skills Ability to interact with USO Leadership the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism Ability to manage and influence external relationshipsProficiency using computers and electronics equipment General knowledge of various software applications and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office and online fundraising platformsDemonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial andor culturally sensitive subjects Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poiseMust show initiative self motivation and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needsAbility to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to perform basic math comply with Payment Card Industry PCI standards and follow proper cashdonation handling and reporting procedures while performing gift processingAbility to perform businessaccounting functions including project management and budget reconciliationsAbility to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security credit andor background screening SOFA status valid drivers licenseMust be a strong advocate of the USOs mission
