Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a 2nd Shift General Manufacturing Manager 1 in Linthicum, MD to supervise 15–20 represented employees in ACT – Assembly Coating and Test. You will oversee safety, quality, scheduling and budget adherence while driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include directing manufacturing operations, leading teams, implementing process improvements, and performing SAP/MES transactions to manage workforce and production data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering or related field with 5+ years in Manufacturing/Production/Engineering, or advanced degree with fewer years.
• Master’s Degree with 3+ years in Manufacturing/Production/Engineering.
• High School Diploma/GED plus 9+ years in Manufacturing/Production/Engineering may substitute for a degree.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a 2nd Shift General Manufacturing Manager 1 based out of Linthicum, MD.

You will be responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 15 - 20 represented (union) employees and processes in a Manufacturing environment for ACT – Assembly Coating and Test. You will work independently across organizations; manage the use of consumables to achieve budget targets; assign and manage represented EMS Operators to maximize efficiency and achieve target productive yields; implement our process improvements to improve affordability, quality, and schedule; and perform required SAP/MES transactions to manage Operator and/or M&P Specialist.

Basic Qualifications for General Manufacturing Manager 1:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in Manufacturing, Production, IT, Engineering environment or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in Manufacturing, Production, IT, Engineering environment or equivalent experience; High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 9 years of experience working in Manufacturing, Production, IT or Engineering environment or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience leading and/or managing people and/or projects
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance is required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications for General Manufacturing Manager 1:

• Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Experience with SAP/MES.
• Experience with ISO, 5S, CI, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Prior experience working in a represented (union) environment.

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,400.00 - $143,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
