The Systems Manager, GCP Lead Platform Tooling, Enterprise Data & Analytics, is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the strategy, maintenance, and observability of the platform toolchain for the ED&A Data and AI platform team. This role manages a group that ensures the reliable operation of platform services, with a primary focus on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The Systems Manager owns the tooling ecosystem, providing comprehensive monitoring and reporting on platform health and usage. Additionally, this role is critical in establishing clear protocols for triaging issues and routing them to the appropriate owners to ensure rapid resolution and continuous platform stability. A key forward-looking responsibility of this position is to enable, support, and maintain the Model and Agent Garden, empowering advanced AI and machine learning capabilities across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on depth in modern cloud platform engineering, observability stacks, and tooling administration. A track record of leading technical teams, managing incident triaging, and supporting ML/AI platform ecosystems is essential. Candidates who can connect tooling strategy with day-to-day operational excellence and lead a team to run it well are encouraged to apply.

5-7 employees (including titles such as Sr System Analyst-7145 and Systems Specialist-7719)
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business, or a technology-centric field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant full-time work experience, or
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business, or a technology-centric field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant full-time work experience.
Platform Leadership (Required): Demonstrated experience in platform engineering, tooling administration, or cloud operations, including time spent leading technical teams.
Observability (Required): Deep expertise with observability, monitoring stacks, and reporting/analytics tooling (especially within Google Cloud environments).
Incident Management (Required): Proven ability to manage incident triaging, routing and operational troubleshooting across complex data platforms.
Operational SLA Management (Required): Experience defining and managing operational metrics, SLAs, or KPIs for technical environments.
AI/ML Platforms (Preferred): Familiarity with deploying, maintaining, or supporting ML model platforms, agent ecosystems, or AI tooling.
Industry Experience (Preferred): Background in utilities, energy, or other regulated industries with exposure to compliance and data sensitivity requirements.
Cloud Architecture (Preferred): Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (such as GCP, Azure, AWS, and/or Databricks) and the integration tooling that supports them.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Technical certification(s) in IT (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer).
