Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative is seeking a Manager, Gas Operations to lead safe, reliable operation of a combined-cycle power plant and to develop a skilled operations team. You will oversee daily plant activities, drive performance improvements, and collaborate with leadership to align with regulatory and long-term facility goals.

The role reports to plant leadership and emphasizes accountability for team performance, annual objectives, and results within operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or eight years of combined-cycle power plant experience.
• At least five years of experience supervising or leading personnel.
• In-depth knowledge of combustion turbine operations and strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily plant operations with a focus on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor equipment and data; troubleshoot and drive improvements in reliability and efficiency.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned activities and support outage planning across plant teams.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, operating plans, performance reporting, and continuous improvement.

As a Manager, Gas Operations, you will lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a combined-cycle power generation facility while developing a skilled and engaged operations team. You'll oversee daily plant operations, strengthen operational performance, and collaborate with plant leadership to support member service, regulatory compliance, and long-term facility goals. This role aligns with AECI's Manager leadership level, with accountability for team performance, annual objectives, and results within the operations function.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily plant operations with a strong focus on safety, reliability, environmental compliance, NERC requirements, and efficient power generation.
• Monitor plant equipment and operating data, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to improve reliability, productivity, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned operational activities and support outage planning and execution across plant teams.
• Partner with plant leadership on budgeting, annual operating plans, performance reporting, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
