Job summary

Lightspeed is seeking a Manager FP&A to lead the Finance team’s planning cycles, including Budget, Forecast and LRP. You will partner with vertical and functional leaders, manage the P&L, and develop insightful analyses to support strategic decisions.

A strong Excel background and 7+ years in financial analysis are required. The role reports to the Senior Director of FP&A and offers a hybrid work arrangement with in-office days.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in progressive financial analysis experience.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and reporting results of a P&L.
  • Experience as a finance business partner supporting senior leadership.
  • Fluency in English for business communication across management levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FP&A business partner relationships and drive strategic finance initiatives.
  • Build financial models, budgets, forecasts and monthly outlooks to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Report on KPIs and dashboards; analyze data to deliver actionable insights.
  • Partner with business leaders to drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Manage the P&L and drive cost optimization efforts.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and forecasting controls.

We’re looking for a Manager FP&A to join our Finance team. You will be reporting to the Senior Director of FP&A. You will be responsible for leading an FP&A business partner relationship while driving strategic finance initiatives. This candidate will broaden established working relationships and methodologies with key stakeholders in both vertical and functional levels, executing on various planning cycles (Budget/Forecast/LRP), understanding revenue, headcount planning, cost of goods, operating expenses and compiling information into financial plans.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with business leaders to provide financial support and develop sound fiscal insights that help achieve strategic plans

  • Build financial models, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks to support decision-making across the organisation, providing guidance to business partners and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial plans

  • Be responsible for reporting projects that gather and integrate large volumes of data, perform in depth analysis, interpret results and develop actionable insights and recommendations for use across the business units

  • Partner with the business to provide insights and recommendations to drive revenue growth and optimise profitability

  • Manage the P&L for the business by analysing the financial and operating results, identifying areas for improvement and driving cost optimization efforts

  • Develop and improve the reporting of business key performance indicators (KPI's) and dashboards to monitor the business specifically with regards to efficiency, profitability, as well as time and resource management

  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to help drive more accurate forecasting and planning.

  • Support other FP&A leaders to develop long term strategies

  • Support and/or develop a network of other cross functional contacts within the business to anticipate and plan for changes to revenue generation strategies

  • Actively participate in the conception and implementation of financial planning IT tools

  • Assist in preparation of various presentations for internal and external stakeholdersWork on ad hoc projects as assigned; such as assessment of new business activities or change of process

  • Assist with special requests from the executive team

  • Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organisational objectives even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role

What you need to bring:

We're looking for a Senior candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance

  • 7+ years in progressive financial analysis experience

  • Expert knowledge in Excel is a must

  • Experience with developing, maintaining and reporting results of a P&L

  • Experience as a finance business partner supporting senior leadership

  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication in English to interact with all levels of management. As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
