Sims Limited is seeking an analytical Regional FP&A/Commercial finance professional to support the North America Metals region. The role focuses on margin analytics, profitability insights across suppliers, segments and regions, and collaboration with Commercial and Operations teams.
You will develop standard reporting, assist budgeting and forecasting, and support initiatives to improve margins and reduce costs. Strong Excel, PowerPoint and BI tooling skills are essential.

Support regional commercial or operations finance team for the Metal business by providing analytical support and actionable insights across the regional commercial and/or operational teams. Through improving the quality and communication of data, the role will contribute to more timely and accurate decision making within regional finance, commercial, and operational functions, while sharing best practices with peers throughout the North America Metals business. The role will contribute to transparency and delivery of increased and more stable trading margin across the region for all commodity products as well as lowering operational costs.
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline preferred ·
3+ years of analytical experience, including sitting and contributing at a functional leadership table as a peer, and leading and developing commercial/business insight ·
Knowledge/familiarity with the administration of IT systems ·
The candidate will be expected to take the initiative and lead your own work programmes. ·
Applicants must be an advanced Excel and PowerPoint user, with strong numeric and literacy skills and willing to learn emerging finance technologies such as power BI and interrelation with underlying databases
Strong influencing skills to implement solutions without direct line authority ·
Understanding of scrap metal economics ·
Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify actionable insights ·
High level of accuracy and attention to detail ·
Strong problem solving and analytical abilities with a quantitative aptitude; intellectual curiosity with the ability to exercise mature judgment ·
Pull together detailed and complicated financial information and present the salient points for decision making ·
