Job summary

DOSS is seeking a Portfolio Manager to lead the Forward Deployed Services team, owning a portfolio of high-value client relationships and guiding a team of FDPMs through discovery, design, build, UAT, and go-live. This role blends leadership with hands-on delivery in a fast-paced environment.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to design data models, workflows, and integrations, while driving improvements and AI-enabled enhancements for enterprise-scale clients.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in engineering, consulting, finance, operations, product operations, or technical program management, including time as a people manager with direct reports.
• ERP implementation leadership experience and ability to scope, configure, migrate data, and go-live.
• Systems thinker who can navigate cross-functional dependencies and teach others.
• Strong communicator with a hands-on, player-coach leadership style.
• Experience in high‑pressure startup, consulting, or finance environments is preferred.

About the Role

Doss's Forward Deployed Services (FDS) team is the core engine of DOSS and the success of our customers. The Portfolio Manager sits at the intersection of product, data, operations, implementation, and customer partnership — leading a team of Forward Deployed Product Manager (FDPM) ICs while staying deeply hands-on yourself.

You'll own a portfolio of Doss's most complex, high-value client relationships and lead your team through the full post-sales lifecycle:

• Discovery: partnering with cross-functional client leadership to analyze operational and financial workflows (flow of goods, information, and money)

• Product Design: data model, workflows, and integrations

• Build/Configure on the DOSS platform

• UAT and Go-live

You'll manage a team of Forward Deployed Product Managers, setting the standard for quality and pace while staying in the weeds alongside your team. This is a player-coach role - you're not just directing, you're doing.

We are open to hiring across the US, but at the moment we are prioritizing candidates in Denver, CO.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in engineering, consulting, finance, operations, product operations, or technical program management, including time as a people manager with direct reports

• ERP Implementation Leadership. You’ve managed a team through an ERP implementation (scoping, configuration, data migration, go-live). Strongly preferred, though we’ll also consider people who’ve led implementations of other complex B2B software or run professional services delivery teams.

• Systems Thinker. Everything in our business is highly interconnected across people, process, and technology. You can traverse it, untangle it, and put it back together, and you can teach others to do the same.

• Player-Coach Mentality. You lead by doing. You’re not the person who delegates everything and manages from a distance: you roll up your sleeves, model the work, and hold the bar.

• High-Intensity. You’ve thrived in high-pressure environments (startups, consulting, finance), and that’s a real preference, not a stated one.

• Technical from First Principles. You can grok hard engineering and logic problems from intuition, not memorization, and you can break them down for your team.

• Intellectual Firepower. You cut through noise, synthesize fast, and make good calls under ambiguity.

• Strong analytical mindset; SQL experience is a plus (not required)
