Do you want to work for a company that is constantly developing new programs to support people with disabilities? Do you enjoy finding new and creative ways for disabled adults to live independently in their own communities? Then read on!

Who We Are

Strategies to Empower People is a 100% employee-owned company that operates in the Greater Sacramento area, Yuba/Sutter/Placer counties, and North Bay region. We have been providing services to adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) since 1994 and are the largest provider of our type in the area. We believe that every moment has potential, and we work tirelessly to ensure the people we serve are given every opportunity to be as independent as possible in their homes and in their communities.

Schedule and Pay

The Assistive Technology Program Manager position is a salaried exempt role which is on-call Monday through Friday and may be responsible for occasional weekend on-call coverage. The rate of pay for this position is $74,880-$80,000 annually depending on experience. This is not a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. position. The Technology Pilot Program is a 24/7 operation and the Assistive Technology Program Manager is responsible for emergency calls and/or emergency coverage when necessary. This may mean supporting in the early mornings, evenings, and even overnight and weekend hours should the need arise.

What Is the Job?

The Assistive Technology Program Manager oversees the agency's Technology Pilot Program, which is a new endeavor by Strategies to Empower People to limit the need for on-site staff for clients who can utilize assistive technology in their homes and communities.

This position will supervise both monitoring staff as well as field staff in the program and will be responsible for program oversight, training, and corrective actions for unit employees. The Assistive Technology Program Manager is responsible for ensuring our program's compliance with external regulations and internal policies and procedures, as well as being responsible for client intakes, assessment and referrals for the Technology Pilot Program, transition planning for current clients and new clients into the Technology Pilot Program, and quality assurance for the individuals supported by the program.

The Assistive Technology Program Manager will also play a primary role in the Technology Pilot Program's development and expansion and will be responsible for sourcing new assistive tools and methods for our clients, attending seminars and conferences to promote the program and its benefits, and implementing new and exciting methods for our clients to live more independently.

Location

This position operates out of our Roseville office location, which is located at 730 Sunrise Ave STE 200. This is not an office-only position. The expectation for the Assistive Technology Program Manager is to be on-site and available to support our clients in the entirety of the greater Sacramento, Placer, Yuba and Sutter areas as needed including attending conferences, trainings, and seminars out of the area.

Job Requirements
  • The Assistive Technology Program Manager position requires experience supervising other individuals as well as extensive experience working in the Human Services field with individuals who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment is a plus as this position will require implementing the use of adaptive devices, remote assistance procedures, and training new and current staff on a variety of tools and systems.
  • This position also requires at least two (2) years of supervisory and budgetary/finance experience. This means supervising staff, NOT supervising individuals with disabilities!
  • The position requires a Master's degree in one of the following areas: Education, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Medicine, Speech and Language, Rehabilitation, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a comparable degree in a human services field.
  • We support and employ several deaf or hard of hearing individuals so possessing AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) skills is a huge PLUS!
  • Being a licensed and insured driver is necessary for this role, which includes having a clean driving record (no excessive points, and no DUIs/wet-and-reckless in the past 10 years).
Why Work Here?

Aside from being a 100% employee owned company, Strategies to Empower People has a lot of additional benefits for our employees. Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and additional benefits after a requisite waiting period. Full-time employees can also begin accruing paid vacation time after a six-month waiting period. We have a matching 401k plan for employees, mileage reimbursement ($.70 per mile), an Employee Assistance Program, sick time accrual, and more.
