GEO Secured Services in Texas seeks a seasoned Food Service Manager to run the daily operation of the facility's food service program, ensuring meals meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

You will supervise staff, including detainee workers, manage menus, budgets, inventories, and implement policies. The role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and collaboration with facility leadership to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years of management in a food service environment.
• Experience in institutional cooking in a correctional setting preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of food service procedures and admin techniques.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

Most Of the Time, You Will:

• Manage the daily operations of the food service in a creative manner.
• Review menus, supervise food prep and storage, and maintain equipment, records, and sanitation.
• Develop and implement food services policies and procedures following professional standards and the facility's guidelines.
• Supervise and inspect the work of other employees.
• Supervise, train, and inspect detainee food service staff.
• Supervise, provide training, and inspect work performed by detainee food service staff.
• Monitor and maintain company quality assurance and control in the food production areas.
• Manage food service budget (food and equipment inventory) and produce reports.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of management experience in a food service environment.
• Experience in institutional cooking in a correctional setting preferred.
• Requires extensive knowledge of the practices and materials used in food service procedures. Must have successful work history of coordinating the demands of a food service operation, displaying a thorough knowledge of administrative techniques and personnel policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated personnel interactions, communication skills, and problem solving techniques.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Physical Requirements

In this position, you will frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs., bend and stoop, walk, and stand. Additionally, you should be able to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull up to 60 lbs. (or more), reach above shoulder level, drive automatic equipment vehicles, work with machinery, climb, sit, and work in extreme temperatures.
