Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Full Time Food Service Leader for day shifts. You will assist in planning, coordinating, and directing daily operations, including scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and production to meet regulatory requirements and patient care standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, food safety certification, 2 years healthcare food service experience, and CDM or eligibility within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Food Safety Certification from an accredited organization required and maintain current.
• Two years experience in food service operations. Healthcare food service experience preferred.
• Computer and software proficiency
• Certificate in Culinary Arts from an accredited Culinary Institute preferred.
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential must be obtained within 6 months of hire date required.
• County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, coordinating, directing and controlling the day to day operation of food services including scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and production, to ensure full compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies.
• Serves as a culinary resource.
• Performs duties necessary for optimal patient care, including the safety and efficiency of food prepared in the department, budgetary requirements and compliance to HACCP guidelines, department policies and procedures.
