Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is seeking a Finance Professional to support GI International financial reporting, co-ordinate statutory reporting activities, and drive balance sheet optimization. You will partner with regional Controllership teams and Finance Transformation to improve reporting processes and strengthen controls.

The role requires 3+ years in financial reporting or controllership, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and preferably CPA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years experience in financial reporting, accounting, or controllership roles in a public company.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Insurance industry experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel experience; SAP and Power BI a plus.
• Strong problem solving and project management skills.
• Strong communication and presentational skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting results and disclosures for GI International's quarterly and annual requirements.
• Collaborate with regional finance teams and stakeholders to coordinate updates and ensure alignment.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen Balance Sheet integrity, transparency, and reconciliation quality.
• Strengthen governance across local statutory and IFRS reporting, status updates, and deadlines.
• Review and enhance reporting frameworks to streamline processes and improve efficiency and timelines.
• Partner with Finance transformation teams to implement enhanced reporting solutions across Controllership.

The Manager will play a key role to support timely, and accurate completion of AIG’s General Insurance (GI) International financial reporting results, coordination of statutory reporting activities, lead Balance Sheet optimization initiatives and partner closely with International Controllership teams, Functional stakeholders and Finance Transformation teams to drive improvements to financial reporting processes across the controllership organization.Key Responsibilities:· Facilitate the timely, accurate, and completeness of AIG General Insurance- International’s financial reporting results and disclosures supporting AIG’s quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.· Collaborate with regional finance teams and functional stakeholders to coordinate financial reporting updates, resolve reporting issues and ensure alignment across the teams.· Lead initiatives to strengthen Balance Sheet integrity, transparency and reconciliation quality· Strengthen financial statement stewardship and governance across multiple reporting bases, including local statutory reporting and IFRS reporting requirements, status updates and filing deadlines· Review and enhance financial reporting frameworks, identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes, strengthen controls and improve reporting efficiency and timelines.· Partner with Finance transformation teams to support the implementation of enhanced reporting solutions across the Controllership organization.Qualifications:Minimum of 3+ years experience in financial reporting, accounting, or controllership roles, at a public company, incl.Big 4 experience is a plusBachelor's degree in Accounting·CPA or equivalent preferredInsurance industry experience a plusStrong Excel experienceSAP and Power BI a plusStrong problem solving and Project Management skillsStrong communication and presentational skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across regional and functional teamsAbility to thrive in a dynamic environment, by embracing change, and identifying opportunities to improve processes that benefit the team and the organizationFor positions based in New York, the base salary range for this position is $99,000-$123,000. For positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range for the position is $97,000-$120,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
