Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • 6+ years of total experience at a public accounting firm or in a large SEC company.
  • Progressed to or currently at the manager level.
  • Experience with Oracle Financial Systems, Workiva and AI-enabled tools is preferred.

Job description

The Manager, Financial Reporting plays a key role in the preparation, review and filing of Carnival Corporation's consolidated external financial reporting, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and, as needed, statutory financial statements. This individual will lead and coordinate key workstreams with the direction and oversight of the Senior Manager and Director of Financial Reporting. This role partners closely with Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, external auditors and finance teams across the global brands to ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations and internal control requirements. The position also supports the Company's quarterly earnings process and disclosure controls while driving continuous improvement through process optimization, automation and AI-enabled solutions.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead the preparation, review and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, annual reports and other external financial disclosures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP.
  • Manage the quarterly and annual reporting calendar and the workload of senior accountants; prepare and review supporting schedules, documentation and disclosure checklists; coordinate inputs across Corporate and the cruise brands; and drive reporting matters to timely resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the financial reporting process by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls and enhance the accuracy, consistency and timeliness of deliverables through the effective use of Workiva, automation and AI-enabled tools.
  • Research and analyze accounting guidance and disclosures, including new accounting standards and their impact on the Company and review U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, regulatory developments, and peer-company filings.
  • Serve as a liaison with external auditors and communicate financial reporting and accounting matters clearly to executive leadership and cross-functional partners, including Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and Corporate and cruise brand accounting teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Scope: This role has broad responsibility for external financial reporting and disclosure activities, including day-to-day oversight of reporting workstreams, team priorities and coordination across Carnival Corporation's global brands and support functions. The individual exercises judgment in resolving reporting and disclosure matters, escalates issues appropriately and clearly communicates accounting impacts to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Problem solving: The role requires interpreting and applying U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements, analyzing new accounting standards, resolving financial reporting issues, balancing concurrent deadlines and identifying process improvements.
  • Impact: The Manager, Financial Reporting directly influences the quality, accuracy, timeliness and reliability of Carnival Corporation’s public financial reporting. The role supports regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, audit readiness and informed decision-making by executive management, and drives continuous improvement across the financial reporting process.
  • Leadership: This position leads financial reporting initiatives while also coaching and developing senior accountants by setting priorities, reviewing work, providing timely feedback and promoting accountability for key deliverables. The role is highly visible to executive management and requires cross-functional collaboration with Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and Corporate and cruise brand accounting teams to coordinate reporting deliverables, resolve matters and drive initiatives to completion.
Essential/Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Professional with at least 6 years of total experience at a public accounting firm and/or similar experience in a large SEC Company.
  • Progressed to or performing at the manager level.
  • Experience with Oracle Financial Systems, Workiva and AI-enabled tools, is preferred but not required.

Travel: No or very little travel likely

Work Conditions:Work may require employee to work inside and/or outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

Physical Demands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
