About the Role
The Company Planning team collaborates with business partners across the organization to drive decisions aimed at maximizing sales and profitability. As manager of company planning for Retail Channel, you will be responsible for supporting the brand's planning and forecasting processes, leading insightful analysis and modeling, and playing a critical part in ensuring consistent and sustained growth for the brand.
What You'll Do
- Develop ad-hoc financial models and analysis that clearly quantify the cost/benefit of new business initiatives and changing trends to both the Retail Channel as well as omni-channel strategies.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis with a growth mindset to solve problems, analyze internal and external data, and create financial models around sales, gross margin, and inventory. Use advanced forecast methods to reduce bias, identify and collaborate on strategies for improved accuracy and financial productivity.
- Establish seasonal financial targets at the brand and channel level that support delivery of the brand's long-term goals by partnering with cross-functional leaders to refine forecast assumptions for sales, gross margin, inventory, and commercial plan activity.
- Clearly communicate risks and opportunities to the financial target during milestone meetings and partner closely with leadership team and business partners to ensure functional plans and strategies are aligned with achieving the brand’s targets.
- Lead in change management, serve as a subject matter expert for finance teams transitioning onto new platforms, facilitate knowledge sharing, gather and implement feedback to create a best-in-class forecast process.
- Synthesize financial findings, develop a storyline and the supporting materials to communicate recommendations to Senior Management and Leadership Team.
- Take initiative and explore ways to better understand competitors, industry performance, and macroeconomic trends as relevant for development of financial plans.
- Responsible for quality of services and advice in meeting business partner needs.
Who You Are
- 7+ years of experience in Finance and/or Planning & Inventory Management. Demonstrated results in delivering Sales and Margin goals, and inventory productivity improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work with a large amount of detail without losing sight of the big picture.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, track record of improving business results and processes through new ideas.
- Self-motivated: empowered to make quick, calculated decisions, follow through with responsibilities, and be fully accountable for results.
- Capability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and drive solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and navigate through complexity.
- Proven track record of building relationships and influencing stakeholders across a variety of cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Essbase, Omniture, PowerBI, NOVA/MicroStrategy, and Anaplan is a plus.
