  • Drives the strategic direction and financial long-term investment process.
  • Forms and maintains effective partnerships across organizational boundaries.
  • Formulates monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
  • Department Specific FunctionsReview of daily hospital revenue and statistics to identify any potential issues that can negatively impact hospital profitability and work with hospital department leader for resolution.
  • Help to manage the annual budget process for the hospital in conjunction with the University's Health System.
  • Reviews and approves capital requisitions, ensuring that all capital requests align with overall budget.
  • Lead the month-end financial close process, ensuring the G/L accounts properly reflect operations, and identify any budget variances
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis on variance cancer service lines in order to determine key factors driving profitability
  • Develop Monthly Operating Reports for the hospital departments to be reviewed with department leaders
  • Oversee, train and develop junior team members
