Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports is looking for a Manager, Field Operations to join the team. The Manager, Field Operations executes the daily operational logistics, on‑site delivery, and crew workflows for assigned sports and events. This hands‑on role carries out established operational procedures, supervises field staff, and serves as the day‑to‑day point of contact between internal departments, vendors, and onsite stakeholders. The Manager owns event‑level logistics to ensure clean execution and efficient use of resources.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage end-to-end logistics and on‑site execution for assigned events, working within the operational strategy and production priorities set by the Sport Delivery Lead
• Work with the Sport Delivery lead to execute facility logistics, resource scheduling, crew assignments, vendor coordination, and on‑site contingency planning
• Build and manage event crew grids and work with internal crewing department to support all crewing needs by event
• Serve as the operational contact for Field Technical Managers, Operations Managers, crews, and production on assigned properties
• Provide event‑level input to the Director on staffing models, recurring issues, and process gaps to inform longer‑term planning
• Processing vendor invoices, monitoring costs, flagging variances, and supporting vendor quote comparisons.
• Maintain working relationships with vendors, school and conference operations staff, and venue personnel to keep events running smoothly.
• Maintain and update operational documentation, checklists, and standard operating procedures; recommend improvements based on field experience.
• With guidance of Management; improve workflow, process, and technology changes across assigned events, and support rollout and adoption with field teams.
• Coordinate across Operations, Production, Engineering, Finance, and Business Affairs to resolve logistical issues and keep stakeholders informed.
• Identify recurring operational problems and propose practical fixes; contribute data and post‑event reporting.
• Supervise and coach coordinators and event crew, setting clear expectations and supporting a culture of accountability and service.
• Travel approximately 30–60% throughout the year to support event execution and on‑site oversight.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 3+ years of management experience in live sports, broadcast, or event operations, including direct supervision of field or event staff
• Demonstrated experience managing multi‑site or multi‑event logistics on a seasonal schedule
• Experience coordinating with vendors, venues, and external partners in a live event environment
• Working knowledge of event budgets, invoicing, and cost tracking
• Proficient in spreadsheet, writing, and presentation programs like MS Office and Google Suite, alongside online collaboration tools like Smartsheet, Playbook, and Slack
• Ability to manage time‑sensitive communications across large and regionally diverse groups at all hours
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent events and shifting priorities
• Sound judgment under pressure, with the ability to make quick decisions on‑site and elevate appropriately

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,000.00-97,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $69,100.00-80,800.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
